He called himself the greatest and backed it up with a dazzling combination of speed and power and bravado that made you stop and stare. Ali who could float like a butterfly and sting like a bee passed away at an arizona hospital. In his prime he was perhaps the best ever in the ring, also a selfpromoter. His post career was marked by a battle with parkinsons disease. Abcs jim avila has more on his final days. Reporter are muhammad ali was taken from his home just outside phoenix by ambulance on may 31st at 1 00 in the afternoon. The ambulance call said a 74yearold man with respiratory issues needed transport to the hospital. Ali suffered from parkinsons disease and had a similar breathing problem that led to a similar hospitalization in scottsdale last year. His daughter leyla changed her facebook picture to a photo of ali and her and posted a message, thanking fans for their thoughts and prayers. Those thoughts poured out overnight as friends and fans alike mourned the loss of the boxer. A great boxer but far more reasons than just boxer. Reporter don king, the fighters former promoter said ali will never die. He stood for the world. Ali spent lots of time here in scottsdale supporting the fight Night Charity which supports research into parkinsons. He was last seen in public ap that charity bank wet in april. The marine layer is shallow but will be growing throughout the day. 60 in santa rosa. 72 by the delta. Yesterday at the concord airport it was 102. The livermore airport was 101. This is really what is keeping us mild this morning. There isnt any wind. By the afternoon, the sea breeze is going to kick up. Look at the temperatures coming down into the low 90s in concord. The coastal sea breeze throughout the bay tomorrow, 70s and maybe a few low to mid 80s in san jose and santa rosa. By monday the sea breeze strengthens, and well have a couple of 90s. More widespread 60s and 70s. By tuesday, all in the 80s in the inland spots and that will stay that way for the rest of the upcoming workweek. Highs today then in the south bay from 86 in santa clara. Low to mid 80s, big improvement from yesterday in the coast. Look for 88 today, down from the upper 90s in santa roses is a. 82 by the water in vallejo. Certainly not as bad as yesterday.
