This all happened at a familyfriendly event here on taylor street. They had music, food, and activities for kids. A group of offduty firefighters from oakland were leaving the event when they were met by a group of men. Something happened, and shots were fired. A nice neighborhood. Like i said, well attended, family oriented. I see family walking their dogs here. It seems to be a random act of violence. Reporter both firefighters were taken to the hospital. One died. The other is stable. Police are still trying to put this all together. There were a lot of witnesses at the time of the shooting exiting the party there. Theres also Surveillance Video in the area. She was run over and killed when a driver plowed his car into a crowd of people marching to protest that rally. The mayor will also address Public Safety at future Public Events in charlottesville. The Berkeley City Council is holding an emergency meeting to stop a rightwing rally. The mayor says no one has tried to obtain a permit for this, but the Police Department will have extra officers on duty. City leaders are concerned about confrontations about rally supporters and counter protesters. Obviously, we have concerns based on other events that have happened here. We talked to them, they said they got to see him. And that it appears hes going to be okay. Hes listed in stable condition. Now, look at this video of the support that the Fire Department also gave to the man who was killed. A 30yearold firefighter died, and he received a procession as his body was transported to valley medical center. Fire trucks escorted that body to show its support down interstate 280. These two men, a 26yearold and a 30yearold, just graduated from the Fire Departments academy in april. So they have only been on the job for a few months. Both of them shot last night. In an exclusive interview with good morning america, she says she appreciates the outpouring of support from people all across the country. She says it makes her realize how large of an impact her daughter has made. Its just blowing my mind how shes reached so far. Several politicians reached out to the family wanting to attend the funeral, but they said they decided to keep it private. You can watch the full interview coming up on good morning america. Police arrested three people in connection to the shooting of a hayward man killed while pushing his child in a stroller. 29yearold daniel del toro was shot and killed on july 19th. He was pushing his infant son in a stroller in the cherryland neighborhood in hayward. The child was not hurt. The suspects are 25yearold Pablo Mendoza from hayward. 26yearold brandon foalings of oakland, and 26yearold Valerie Bowden of alameda. Investigators think this shooting was gang related. Alameda police are investigating after a synagogue was vandalized. Photos taken on Bay Farm Island show you the broken windows that have been boarded up. The congregant who posted the photos on facebook said the vandals knew they were targeting a Jewish Institution because of the symbols displayed on the property. Police say its not called a hate crime at this time. A family is finally getting answers after almost 26 years of missing a young man. The peak of the eclipse will last about two minutes, something pg e has been working on now for an entire year. Solar power in the bay area will be reduced by 75 when the moon crosses the sun. Pg e expects a 2600 megawatt dropoff of solar energy when demand is typically about 13,000 megawatts. Theyre using state of the Art Technology to replace what is lost, that includes using hydropower, natural gas and other sources to make sure service isnt interrupted for customers.
