Reporter on a normal day the city needs 13 dispatchers, and that was not a normal day. According to the San Francisco examiner, the city had 12 dispatchers on duty when the power went out last month and more than 200 callers were hung up on or they hung up in the first hour without their 911 call being answered. And city leaders are concerned and they said it was a wake up call and the supervisor called for a hearing on the issue. 80,000 customers lost power because of a fire at a pg e substation, and pg e has apologized for the outage. As for the dispatch issues, Officials Say we are still about a year away from hiring and training enough dispatchers to staff the 911 call center. They moved the armour vehicle and parked it here, and so they are having issues with the lighting this morning.
