To dog was very aggressive, actually. Took an aggressive stance towards our officer and thats why our officer discharged his firearm. Reporter an officer ran inside to get the baby. When the officer pulled him out, the quite the emotional scene. Having to wrap his head. Reporter the boy underwent surgery at oakland Childrens Hospital after suffering bites to the head. Hes expected to be okay. But his 7yearold brother is struggling after witnessing the traumatic attack. The 7yearold started screaming, which caught moms attention. Mom came in there, was able to pull the child away, and prevent any further attack. And that probably saved his life. Reporter the German Shepherd mastiff mix named charlie was 80 pounds. The mother stepped out of the room for a moment before the attack happened. Talking to mom, sounds like the dog never had any never showed any signs of aggression before in the past and mom actually raised this dog since he was a little pup. Reporter neighbors tell abc7 the dog was aggressive, one neighbor saying it attacked her dog a few years ago. Contra costa Animal Services is investigating. Abc7 news. Well, abc7 news was at the south bay Mobile Home Park in san jose as more people returned home for the first time following this weeks devastating flooding. And as if these people didnt have enough to worry about, now weve learned some of them have become crime victims. Abc7 News Reporter kateny marzullo has the details. Reporter the flood water has receded from the south bay Mobile Home Park. Now the focus is getting hot water. I had to buy a hot plate from frys for 20 and you know using the microwave and heating up water. Reporter bonnie is the assistant manager. She and her husband have been without gas for four days and three very cold nights. Its been very hard on him without having the heat and stuff. When youre 70something you need your heat. Reporter now theyre among the lucky ones, their gas is back on. Park utilities is going door to door relighting pilot lights. The great thing about it is that people always smile when you knock on the door and say theyre going to have hot water. Reporter because of the utilities situation, city officials have not completely lifted the evacuation order. But Park Management is encouraging people to return. Weve had three breakins, unfortunately. So weve told them if they can, try to come back home, at least check on your home. Reporter in other neighborhoods, people continue to toss out their water logged and contaminated belongings. These are hard times for flood victims. Janet childs knows. She had to evacuate her mobile home tuesday and shes an expert in traumatic stress. Do one task at a time that you can accomplish because that puts you from out of control to in control. The other thing that really helps is being in community. So dont try to go it alone. Reporter these flood ravaged communities have certainly come together. In san jose, katie marzullo, abc7 news. San jose is opening a local Assistance Center today at the Shirakawa Community Center its going to be a multiagency onestop shop for evacuees hoping to get back on their feet. Advocates, insurance providers and emergency experts from the state will all be on hand. The center will be open from 9 00 to 4 00 this weekend and 8 00 to 6 00 on weekdays. The city of san jose is trying to figure out how much damage there is in order to get state and federal Disaster Relief funding. Yesterday, city workers had dumpsters set up to help people get rid of furniture, piles of clothes and anything else damaged in this weeks flood. Its a godsend. Theyre well organized and its really a godsend. The city says it will have dumpsters in all three of the areas unundated by flood waters. Our 7 on your side team was getting answers from experts. Johnny munoz went out to his car, around the corner to find his car broken into. Three people jump and had robbed him. They fractured bones in his forehead, causing him to suffer seizures. Munoz is now on medical leave recovering. Everybody pulled together, everybodys working extra shifts to make up, and nobody cares. I mean, thats what we do. Thats what you do. You help each other out. Neighbors said they just want to help his family with medical expenses. So far, theyve raised about 3,500. The whom who claimed in a blog that San Franciscobased uber encourages harassment says shes now the target of a smear campaign. Yesterday, susan fowler asked her twitter followers not to give out any personal information about her. Former engineer left uber in december claiming her manager made sexual advances that werent investigated. Uber says its in no way involved in a smear campaign, calling that type of behavior wrong. Somehow a car ended up inside the lobby of the East West Bank in San Franciscos sunset district last night. Looks like the driver went right through that frond window. No one was hurt. The Alameda County Sheriffs Department has confirmed a body found along Alameda Creek in fremont is that of jayda jenkins. The 18yearold from tracy had been missing for more than a month. On january 21, her car went off niles canyon road. The search was hampered by storms. A man found jenkins body is 11 miles from where her car crashed. Her family was relieved to know that we found jayda. They now can begin their closure, begin to start healing and begin to try to make sense of this tragedy. Sergeant kelly said theres nothing to indicate foul play. Shes just one day old but a baby girl in the east bay is already taking her parents on a wild ride. Elissa harrington tells us, the baby was born in the car outside the hospital. Reporter a special and fast delivery for kim and dan stone of oakland. Their baby girl surprised everyone when she decided to make her arrival in the backseat of a car. It was sort of a mellow night at home, a slow kind of normal labor, and then within about a half an hour, it just it was mayhem. Reporter and by the morning, things took off. They got into the car for the short drive to the hospital, but amaro would not wait. The head was already crowning when we got to the hospital. Reporter the family got as far as that driveway. Thats the Valet Parking dropoff in front of the hospital. A nurse who had just arrived for her shift heard screaming and jumped into action. She called for a code stork, an emergency announcement that lets the hospital know theres a baby being born outside. Surveillance video shows the crowd of hospital staff surrounding the car. That nurse has 32 Years Experience but thursday was the first time she delivered a baby on her own. I think i was kind of in denial that it was happening and then i was just relieved that there were people there and i felt very safe and like everyone had it under control. Happening today, friends and family of a vallejo teen who went missing nine months ago will walk to call attention to the case. 15yearold parole disappeared near her home in may of last year. She was last seen on the overpass in vallejo. Her suspected kidnapper died in a shootout with police in Santa Barbara county just one day after she went missing. Police are offering a 1,000 reward to anyone who can provide a tip leading to an arrest. Todays walk starts at 3 00 on that overpass. The white house is admitting it tried to get the fbi to denounce reports leaking the Trump Campaign to russian intelligence. Yesterday, the president called out the reports and its sources at the republican convention, cpac. Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Carl has more. Officials alleging repeated contacts between the Trump Campaign and russian intelligence. Over the week, chief of staff Reince Priebus said the story was nonsense. I know what they were told by the fbi because ive talked to the fbi. I know what theyre saying. Reporter now the president is furious about new reports priebus pressured the fbi to knock the story down. Such pressure could violate longstanding policy prohibiting white house interference in ongoing investigations. Im against the people that make up stories and make up sources. They shouldnt be allowed to use sources unless they use somebodys name. Reporter but ironically, the white house itself organized a briefing for reporters on the story and insisted that officials be quoted anonymously. One Top White House official at the briefing who insisted his name not be used said there was no pressure on the fbi. In fact, the official said fbi director james comey dismissed the New York Times report into the russian connection as, quote, total garbage. Director comey was at the white house just just last month, praised by the president. Hes become more famous than me. Reporter but when chief of staff priebus asked comey if the fbi would publicly dispute the New York Times story, the fbi director said he could not do that. None of this seemed to matter to the crowd at cpac, the largest annual gathering of conservative activists in the country. Trump skipped it last year. This year, a triumphant return.
