Those people feeling very worried about leaving their homes behind. Firefighters say they did all they could to get everyone out, knocking on doors, before the river spills over its banks and crests again today. Ive lied here eight years and everybody else has lived here all their lives and they said, its not going to flood and i said, i think its going to flood. Reporter yeah, the river is already flooded neighborhoods. Today is expected to be worse. They think its going to hit 37. 6 feet by 9 00 this morning. They consider 40 feet or more a major flood. But this would be about 6 feet over the flood stage. We will have live reports from guerneville later this morning to show you the situation there. Reporting live from forestville, Amy Hollyfield, abc7 news. Thank you, amy. Those folks were able to get out of there around midnight. And always be careful when you are driving in this weather, especially when its dark outside. This is northbound 101 north of Bailey Avenue in san jose. Flooding closed all but one lane there and those flooded areas, tough to see at night. And gilroy, uvas creek continues to roar more like a river. Yesterday flooding from all the rain closed silvas crossing and several other roadways. Emergency crews responded to call after call. In marin county, a landslide on sir Francis Drake boulevard in fairfax trapped two young kids and their grandparents inside. It came without warning. These trees came down in mudslide and smashed the carport and pushed all the mud out, and the carport is buried. You cant even see that it was there. And the trees are on top of it somewhere. Medics checked everyone out just in case. Everyone was fine. And at first they thought the girls grandparents would have to be carried out because of their ages but they said they were just fine and walked out on their own. We can see a repeat of this today along San Franciscos embarcadero, a combination of the king tides and all the rain, flooded part of pier 14 yesterday. Perception sometimes does not equal reality. But yeah, it did rain heavy at times yesterday but the rainfall amounts were within the parameters of a storm level 2 and the rainfall wasnt even close to what we had sunday, nor was the damage, but we did have a little more damage than the 2 would normally create because sunday set the stage with the ground being so saturated for a few more trees to come down but the flash flooding yesterday, not even close to what we saw on sunday. So, in that case, i can see what youre seeing, a lot of people were going, oh, he missed this one. Theres no way. And then last night when the thunderstorms rolled through, it was like this is not a 2, its thunderstorm.
