Good morning, im abc7 meteorologist Frances Dinglasan. Weve got a lot of rain falling all around the bay area. In fact, just this morning, we already got about 1 4 inch in santa rosa. Right now, temperatures are in the 40s and 50s, this live view of sfo shows some low clouds there as well. San francisco, currently 45. Oakland, 44 degrees. San jose, 50 degrees. Now, todays storm on our exclusive storm impact scale ranks a 2 out of 5. Its a moderate storm. Were expecting some downpours during the Morning Hours and then turning into isolated but still heavy showers in the afternoon. Windy conditions as well with gusts up to 60 Miles Per Hour and rainfall amounts anywhere from 1 4 inch to parts of the south bay to over 1 1 2 inch in parts of the north bay and we could get even more than that in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Right now, winds are already gusting up to 35 Miles Per Hour. Very gusty conditions a well in napa so there is a wind advisory in effect until 1 00 this afternoon. Winds from the south this time, 20 to 30mileperhour winds with up to 45mileperhour gusts so look out for downed trees and potential Power Outages all along the coast. North bay, down to the south bay and the Santa Cruz Mountains and into monterey as well as parts of the east bay as well. In the higher elevations, its been upgraded to a high wind warning so for the hills and mountains, that extends until 1 00 this afternoon for the north bay areas and the east bay and the south bay and tomorrow morning. And this is where gusts can reach up to 60 Miles Per Hour above 1500 feet. All right. So heres what you can expect for tomorrow on our storm impact scale. It is going to be major. Thats 4 out of 5. So tomorrow, between midnight and 10 00 in the morning is when we expect our most severe impact. Heavy, heavy rain, powerful wind gusts, were expecting flooding and wind damage, Power Outages are likely as well. So here are the major concerns. Were going to look for stream and creek flooding. Thats going to be high tomorrow. Debris flows over the burn scar areas where weve had some some of the recent fires. Also, hydroplaning will be likely and high and we can expect Power Outages as well as river flooding if you can avoid driving as cornell mentioned earlier, especially tomorrow, that would be a great idea. Plan on some activities at home. So theres also Flash Flood Watch that starts this afternoon and continues through tomorrow for the areas in green. So basically, clover dale all the way down to san martin, we have got streams and roadway flooding that we expect debris flows, especially in the Santa Cruz Mountains, once again, over those burn scar areas. So, we have the heavy rain this morning and then tonight, this storm moves in once again and continues into sunday morning. This is where we turned it into a level 4, major storm. Notice the areas of red, yellow, and orange. Thats the heaviest rain, and it just continues hour after hour after hour all the way through the morning into noon and then by the afternoon, well get little bits of break so weve got tons of rain heading our way. We are talking up to 10 inches or more in the Santa Cruz Mountains, anywhere from 3 inches to 4 1 2 around the bay up and up to 6 in the north bay so we are expecting some rivers as well in the north bay to exceed flood stage, especially tomorrow afternoon into sunday. The accuweather seven day forecast shows rain every day. Rainy and breezy today, the storm impact scale, it ranks a 2. Tomorrow, the major storm heading our way, number 4. Monday, rain again, but the next big storm after that is on tuesday, rainy and windy, and just get ready for a wet one. Do what you need to do. Charge your phones, get ready for Power Outages, avoid driving, clean out the rain gutters if havent already. Flashlights, batteries, and a full tank of gas in the car just in case. Thanks so much. Its really going to be heightened between midnight and 10 00 a. M. With heavy rain and powerful wind gusts so concerns we have this weekend, a lot of rain in a short amount of time. Streak and creek flooding possible, also debris flows over our burn scars, ponding on roadways means hydroplanes is very likely. Gusty winds means Power Outages likely and even river flooding is cause for concern. I would encourage you to download the abc7 news app. Track the rain any time this and were starting this half hour with a look at the weather and theres a lot to talk about. Heres meteorologist Frances Dinglasan. Good morning, everyone. Im just seeing rain totals climb up every hour, live doppler 7 showing us some widespread rain all around the bay area. And at sfo, just this morning, we already had about 1 3 inch of rain. Right now, they are reporting over twohour delays at sfo, also very low clouds ceilings as well. What were seeing is just a preview of whats to come. The area of green, you notice all those clouds, thats the Atmospheric River, all the moisture heading our way this weekend. Its a moderate storm, morning downpours, afternoon scattered showers with winds gusting up to 60 Miles Per Hour in the higher elevations. We could get up to 1 1 2 inch of rainfall for some of our areas and even more than that in the Santa Cruz Mountains. So, 7 00 this morning, well see some of the heavier rain in the north bay.
