Thats after a series of six attacks across the french capital within 30 minutes of each other, including shootings, explosions and a hostage situation. At least eight terrorists are dead. Seven of them killed themselves when they detonated suicide vests. French officials have found a syrian passport on one attacker. The eiffel tower will be closed indefinitely following the attacks. Isis claimed responsibility and said it was the first of the storm in a warning to those who wished to learn. Heres the overnight developments. S at least 8 were killed by the police and 7 wearing suicide vests and blew them up. But at this point in time its unclear whether thats all the attackers that took part in the raids that happened on friday night or when radio some of the attackers might still be at large. That is certainly something that is causing a great deal of concern here among the french people here of the people who live in paris. A lot of people say they are going to stay indoors. The french government has, in fact, urged people to not venture out if they dont need to do so. While many people are leading the advice, there are others who are coming out on this saturday morning who are defying all of that, saying that they will not be intimidated by terrorism. As all of that is going in, of course, the investigation is moving forward as well. There are at least six sites where these attackers struck. The most horrific happened at a theater where a rock concert was going on. More than 100 people were killed at that venue alone when, first of all, the attackers moved into that building, started shooting around and then took many people there hostage before the building wags raided. The french have vowed there is going to be a tough, and as the president puts it, a merciless response. In paris. 6 03 is our time. Abc7 news spoke to a man who witnessed the terror. He has friends and family there and said he was not able to leave his house because the army set up outside his door. He lives at one of the six sites attacked. The man said he was walking home with friends when they stumbled upon a grisly seen. And the neighbors putting blankets and covering bodies from the street. Paris is often called the city of lights, but last night it was dark. The lights on the eiffel tower were turned off to honor the dozens of people killed. In new york city the top of the new York World Trade Center was lit in blue, white and red last night, the colors of the french flag. The Freedom Tower will remain lit in those colors to honor the victims. As many of you know, San Francisco is one of paris scissor cities. City hall was lit up in the colors of the french flag to honor the victims. People were touched by the display, even though the color were initially displayed in the wrong order. S people paid tribute at the trench consulate in San Francisco. Many who showed up are french nature i was who has been suffering deep pain. This has been a year of terror in france. 11 people were killed in the offices of the Charlie Hebdo magazine. Then in august, a attacked, a paris bound train. One man visiting here was from paris. He expects they will have to do the same if a vigil is planned for the this attack. One flight was cancelled from paris to sfo and a flight from paris to sfo last night. We spoke with a graduate student from san ramon who plans to take a group of International Students to france next week. Shes very worried. S im very worried now. Just because it doesnt sound safe to go, especially with students from all over the world. Nine flights from paris to San Francisco today are listed as delayed. But so far none of the flights from San Francisco to paris have been cancelled or delayed. The out of the control double decker tour bus crashed into several vehicles. It happened on post street and union square. A very busy spot on a friday afternoon. 20 people were hurt. Its nerveracking because the first 48 hours is crucial for her recovery. The surgery to repair her mitro valve was done to avoid full cardiac failure. Doctors say she still has a long road ahead and will need live long care, but the family said the Community Support has kept them positive. But midnight we will start to see rain in parts of the north bay like ukiah and cloverdale. Then we will see the line of heavy rain hit the bay area around 3 00 a. M. It will start to move south from there. By 7 00 tomorrow morning just spotty showers throughout parts of the east bay and maybe. Peninsula coast. Check it out, by lunchtime just some cloud cover but then the wind moves in. Old care coming from the north will make it for a very uncomfortable sunday afternoon.
