And one year later new details on the search for Malaysia Airlines flight 370 as family and friends mark the anniversary of the jets disappearance. Yeah badabopbopbopa no . Must be the honey covering all of the bay area this is abc7 news. Its been one year since the mysterious disappearance of Malaysia Flight 370 which vanished with 249 people on board. The details of a new report includes a finding that the battery of an underwater beacon that could have been used to locate the plane had expired more than a year before the aircraft vanished. It also found both the captain and the crew showed no odd behavior or signs of stress before the flight took off. Australians Prime Minister said despite the amount of time thats passed, the search for the plane must continue. We owe it to the families of the dead. We owe it to the traveling public to do whatever we reasonably can to resolve this mystery. Its one of the great mysteries of the 21st century. In late january malaysias government declared it an accident and said all people on board are declared dead. In selma, alabama, president obama joined thousands marking the 50th anniversary of a landmark moment in the civil rights movement. In 1965 Peaceful Protesters demanding the right to vote tried to cross that citys bridge only to be met by police brutality. Abc News Reporter mary bruce was there for the commemoration of bloody sunday. The nations first africanamerican president walking in the footsteps of the Freedom Fighters who paved his future and altered history 50 years ago. Thousands gathered at selma to remember that day in 1965 when Peaceful Protesters marched across the edmondpetis bridge demanding equality. You are ordered to disburse. They were met with violence. State troopers armed with clubs and tear gas. It was a Tipping Point that proves the power of nonviolence can spark change and forced congress to pass the civil rights act. It was not a clash of armies but a clash of wills. A contest to determine the true meaning of america. But for all the promises made, echoes of selma remain in the shooting deaths of unarmed black men by white police officers, to the rolling back of the Voting Rights act. The president encourageed those who came to this event to come together, to be foot soldiers for change. We know the march is not over. We know the race is not won. So many people tell us we came here not only to remember but to cross the bridge but to finish the work of those that marched before them. Mary bruce, abc news, selma alabama. We are still searching for some cooler weather or rain. There might be some out there but we are looking at live doppler 7hd. You can barely see the fog. It will make somewhat of an impact in some neighborhoods today. It was 66 yesterday at Half Moon Bay. Hollister and santa cruz 81 degrees. 7 31 is the official sunrise today. Sun sets at 7 10. Thats 11 38 of day light. We have that going for us. The quarter mile visibility santa rosa, three quarters mile petaluma. And here in San Francisco pretty quiet. Temperatures are right at 50. 48 in oakland. Good morning, san carlos. 53 san jose. Low 40s for gilroy. Half moon bay sits at 46 and another day in the low to mid60s at the coast with some fog. Heres our future tower camera where numbers dropped to the upper 30s in napa. Still not as cool as yesterday. 44 in livermore and fairfield sitting at 52 degrees. Painly in the 40s and 50s. We will look for a very pleasant day today. But cooler than yesterday in San Francisco. And the bay and coastal clouds really being confined closer to the water because the impact will only be felt really marginally. Around a mile or two from the water. Otherwise others warm day inland cooler weather, cloud were weather heads our way midweek as the dominant ridge of High Pressure weakens and heads to the east. We arent looking at a big system. It continues to cue up offshore but its not going to be able to make any sort of impact until the ridge continues to weaken. In the meantime warm days and cool nights and the longrange outlook shows a few light showers with cloudier conditions and temperatures back in the 60s by this wednesday. But then beyond that the ridge rebounds and we are looking at another dry week. That should be the last week of allegedly the winter weve been in. We will look for the cooler numbers come wednesday. But between now and then we are still above average. In the upper 60s San Francisco. Low 60s is the average high. Very mild. Morning low clouds and fog. Here comes the system. Doesnt look like we will see much in San Francisco. Perhaps points south will pick up maybe a quarter in and back to low to mid70s by thursday friday and next saturday. So in san jose, you, too, will be feeling the impact from the high drifting away. That will allow temperatures just one day this week to drop into the 60s. Otherwise you can see the bookends of 70s on either send of the week ahead. So we are stuck with the sunny, mild weather. In fact, rather warm for fairfield and concord, mid70s. Livermore 75. The cooler day today will be at Half Moon Bay 61. Low to mid60s Electric Point raise, bodega bay 70s richmond and the accuweather sevenday forecast. Coastal fog still a sunny and warm afternoon. Tomorrow slightly cooler and tuesday. Then increasing clouds and maybe some rain wednesday. Certainly cooler highs with the clouds and then the sunny and milder weather beyond that. You can see whats showing up on live doppler 7hd anytime with the abc7 news weather app. Its free at Apple App Store or on google play. More information on our website.
