A little breezy. Oakland we see 70s. Through the upper 70s. And inland, thats where we see the numbers crank up into the 90s to. We talk about even warmer for some of you when we are back in a few minutes. Katie. Thank you, lisa. We start the news with breaking news out of Solano County. Cruz are working to put out a wildfire that grew to 1,000 acres overnight. It started around 9 30 last night. Highway 128 and the lake and monticello dam. 20 fire engines and six crews were called to fight the fire. 128 is closed in some areas. 30 homes are under mandatory evacuation orders. No word yet on what started the fire. Developing overnight, fire crews in hayward have contained a grass fire that broke out in the hills near the east bay. They dont know what sparked the flames. They broke out before midnight. Officials say the flames were slow moving and they extinguished it in 15 minutes. Two acres were charred. No injuries. And investigators are look fork the cause of a fire that displaced rate people in brentwood. It started on sycamore avenue near a Senior Housing complex. Flames spread to the build, consuming two apartments. And another two units were damaged by smoke. It took crews 45 minutes to get the fire under control. Back to Solano County for another wildfire. Fastmoving flames tore through a home destroying homes. Abc7 News Reporter alan wang was there and spoke with devastated homeowners who lost everything. The tackett family walked down the street of what used to be their neighborhood in the Small Community of collinsville. A windwhipped grass fire destroyed eight homes along the san joaquin river. Stephanie said it started around 1 30 in the afternoon. We were grabbing water hoses and neighbors were and fire extinguishers. The faster the fire spread and it started going to my house. This is what is left of the tacketts threebedroom, one bath home that they were renting. It started about 20 yards behind the house. It was windy. It was real windy. I came around the side of the house and seen the fire and i hollered fire, fire. The win of more than 20 miles an hour picked up embers and ignited another fire a halfmile away. Thats the eighth home thats been destroyed. And the fire if you can see it, the fire trucks are there right now putting it out. The red cross is housing the tackettss and their neighbors while investigators try to figure out the cause. The quick destruction with a combination of extremely dry conditions, high winds, and a Remote Community that took firefighters at least 20 minutes to reach. In Solano County, alan wang, abc7 news. The fire burning in napa county is now 65 contained. Its burned 4300 acres in pope valley since breaking out on tuesday. The flames have destroyed two homes and seven other structures and three people have been hurt. Evacuations have been cancelled. Developing news out of oakland where one man died and a second man is injured after they were electrocuted. A power line connected to a home fell. The men were taken to the hospital where one died. The condition of the second victim is not known. A report of people being injured. Gunshots and fireworks. Upon arrival we saw two gentlemen down on the sidewalk in the street. It appears they were electrocute bid a downed wire. What caused it is unclear t could have been gunfire or fireworks. We are still investigating. Police say the fallen power line also started a small grass fire. The incident is under investigation. Two men were injuredly fireworks in sunnyvale. It happened just before 10 00 last night. We learned one of the men lost several fingers. No word on their condition this morning. [explosions] [fireworks] you see and hear that. Kind of looks like a professional fireworks display, right . Its not. A viewer captured these illegal fireworks being set off last night in oaklands san antonio neighborhood near 14th avenue. Not far away, the away, the police. And injuries are always a concern when it comes to fireworks, especially the illegal kind. Heres illegal fireworks being launched over the city last night. We have details of the Law Enforcement crack down from san leandro. Neighborhood homemade Fireworks Show seem to be everywhere. This one sent from a viewer. They say the fourth can be a scary time. We had dinner and somebody near our home was letting off some real loud ones. Its hard to distinguish it between a gunshot and an actual firecracker. We rode along with the police ltd. As he looked for violators. A lot of them are very powerful and can cause anywhere from minor to extremely serious injuries. Back at the station the officer confiscated this arsenal of fireworks from one homeowner who didnt realize it was all illegal. So you put these containers in there. Its like the military uses, its called mortors. One wrong move and it could turn tragic. If they are holding them and the wicks burn faster, this can explode in their hand and they can lose their entire hand. In san leandro, colonel bernard, abc7 news. The selling of illegal fireworks usually heats up in San Franciscos chinatown around the fourth of july but sales appear to be down the past few years. Some dealers might fear extra heat from police after officers arrested three men suspected of selling the powerful m1,000s. And the other reason people seem to be turning to places like craigslist to buy fireworks. Last night thousands crowded into fishermens wharf in San Francisco to catch the professional fireworks, even though the fog was there. We report on the festivities, despite the fog. For a lot of people this yearly event is a chance to venture into the city to join the company of thousands of people. We showed you the shot a few minutes ago m and my amateur weather forecasting way, i can tell you the bridge deck looks like its cleared a little bit. The fog was lower moments ago but its hanging over the top of the bridge there. This is the scene a lot of folks will be seeing this morning as they wake up. Lisa argen will fill you in with the official forecast coming up in just a little bit. We have new details about a Home Invasion and Sexual Assault in san jose. Police have arrested a second suspect in the attack which happened on tuesday. The boy arrested yesterday, is 16 years old. Police arrested his 15yearold accomplice tuesday. Detectives say either one or both of the boys sexually assaulted an 85yearold woman after breaking into her and her husbands home. The two then stole the couples s. U. V. One teen was caught after crashing the s. U. V. Into a garage a few blocks away. A vigil was held last night in san jose for a palestinian teenager who was kidnapped and killed. The 16yearold boys burned body was found outside of jerusalem. His family believes his killing was in retaliation for the death of three israeli teens. Heres the scene. Its near santana road you see dozens showed up to remember the boy, who had family in the south bay. Yesterday his body was released by israeli authorities and carried through the streets. Thousands of palestinians gathered to celebrate the boy, who they now call a martyr. New details about a deal between forprofit chorinthean colleges and the department of education. They have agreed to close. They have more than 07,000 students nationwide. They have struggled since a ruling regarding federal student aid money. They are regulating claims the college lied about College Placement numbers and they claimed to offer perhaps many that it does there is argument on both sides of the immigration debate. They are waiting for more buses carrying undocumented immigrants to arrive. There have been several arrests in marietta. They are shouting and chanting. [chanting] there was passion on both sides in marietta. A place thats now at the center of this nations debate over illegal immigration. What do you hope happens out of all of this . I hope we turn them back. Im here in support of these children who have been brought to this country. To give them enough money. We cannot handle this invasion. This is not what this country is all about. The children need a break. They arent criminals. Not knowing exactly when the buses would arrive, some people spent the entire night out here. If we argued about that, you dont want to listen. Thats racist. As the sun rose, the crowd only got more vocal. [shouting] one person was arrested for allegedly obstructing a police officer. By lunchtime things appeared to be getting a little out of hand. Getting really close to having a chaotic situation. So police divided the crowd. But even with Law Enforcement in the middle [chanting and shouting] there was still plenty of yelling. What are you going to do when the buses get here . Im going to stand in the middle of the road. Im going to stop them if we can. If they arrest us, i guess they will arrest us. This is not what we should be doing. We should be embracing these kids and Opening Doors for them. While this may be an exercise of First Amendment rights, some feel a lot of it is a waste of time. You have people chanting ignorant slogans back and forth and no one is really listening. It will take a day or two for the warmth to get really into the bay. At the coast we will see the 60s. The warmest day looks to be monday. If you like it warm and you are lucky to have it off monday, it will be a good day. San jose is gray this morning. But 80s on the way with plenty of sunshine. 58 there. 50 gilroy. Half moon bay a little fog at 54. We have the breeze being transported into our inland east bay. Its 54 in the city. 56 in oakland and heres the view atop vollmer peak. Thats mount deab bro from the east bay hills camera. Fairfield 55. Southwest wind gusting to 30 miles an hour. But still you will warm through the 90s today by the delta. It will be a little breezy. 52. Clear skies in concord. 54 livermore and its clear. Heres a look at the marine layer. Its situated at about 1,000 feet in some spots. You can see that the deck is beginning to break up a little bit. We will look for the warming to begin today. Not losing the fog at all. So it will be back with us tonight. And it will get a little patchy in the days ahead. By monday, the warmest day, we will be topping out around 100 degrees inland. Heres the look at our fog forecast. Its clear inland. We will be looking for the fog to continue to get chewed out throughout the morning hours. As it does, we will get into more sunshine. 10 00, 11 00, heres the fog from point reyes, and through San Francisco and situated all the way down to the central coast. Its more dense along so leanness salinas and watsonville. The big bubble of High Pressure will be exexpanding westward. Thats why the inland east bay will be warmest and the heat not likely to make it all the way to the coast. In fact the on shore flow, the west wind, stays with us. That will keep things rather cool and the spread pretty significant. About 40 degrees from our coast to our inland valleys. So if you are headed out of town or you have friends and family headed into town, tell them to bring the jacket if you are headed to the beach. The surf is kicking up in Southern California. You see the cloud cover here blowing off. This may be a concern for us into the middle of next week with a little bit more cloud cover. As for today in alameda, we will look for temperatures climbing through the 80s. This goes on for another day, and it looks to be a warm one out there. Back home, 62 Half Moon Bay n the cities mid60s again and 70s in richmond. 78 fremont. 92 in morgan hill, though. City started charge fourth parking last year but the program is being scrapped to make it more affordable for residents and visitors to get around. Meters at Fishermans Wharf and the port of San Francisco will continue to separate on sundays, as well as severalcy parking lots. In fact, we will see plenty of 90s east of the caldecott tunnell today and we will look for the fog to continue to erode throughout the midmorning hours. So that will leave us with plenty of sunshine and a little bit of a warmup today in the inland valleys. 90s return there with plenty of 70s around the bay. Low to mid80s in the south bay. Plenty of 80s in the north bay. The beaches with the sea breeze in the 60s. More changes, subtle changes, continue for the rest of the weekend and into early next week. Authorities say four children have been killed by a fastmoving fire from swept through several row houses in philadelphia this morning. More than 40 people are displaced. At least ten homes are damaged. No word on what caused the fire. Your peak airplane manufacturer airbus is revealing a plane design that has a plane with a cockpit with no view. Take a look. The windows in front of the plane would be replaced by video screen, showing footage from the outside along with holograms of obstacles and the pilots wouldnt necessarily be situated in front. A new type of Farmers Market has hoped in los angeles. Instead of fresh produce, farmers are selling fresh cannabis. Farmers are set up in a 15,000 square foot warehouse. Sacramento kings will abandon their arena to build a new one that will be be the smallest in the nba. The 477 million project at downtown plaza is set to begin construction later this month. It will only seat 17,000 fans. While the new arena is not bigger than the existing venue at sleep train, the kings owners say the new building will be more profitable. Fewer seats in the lower beil will be higher ticket prices and twice as many luxury seats. Just when you thought a deal was done, another snag for the oakland as as they try to approve a deal we coliseum. The city of oakland still isnt on board. Abc reporter Laura Anthony has the latest twist. It may be a day of celebration, but as fans attending found little joy in the latest developments coming out of the teams efforts to extend their lease in oakland. Forget about the politicians. We are going to have a good time. We are fans. We arent leaving no matter what. We are just tired with the on and off wars with the city. We need something there. The oakland mayor jean quan and they said they signaled that they want something more from the owner lou wolf. And among the sticking points the city wants a team committed to stay until the end of 2019, not just 2017. And oakland wants the as to pay 21 million over ten years. Not the 15. 5 million in the current deal. Whatever it is that we can to to get the as out of oakland and down to san jose sam is an as fan from san jose who thinks oaklands reluctance could be his citys gain. Lets get them down to san jose so they can make money for everybody. Its a win, win, win. I always thought he would pull that card. The board member worries wolf may followthrough with his threat to pull the as out of oakland immediately if the lease deals falls through. People say the as couldnt go anywhere tomorrow, they couldnt do anything else. But by not Going Forward with the deal and saying to Major League Baseball we think we are better than you, i think there are bigger forces out there that could make it happen. This is just the first step. The contract must also be ratified by the almeda county supervisors and the oakland city council. And theres no park thats going to hold this one in. They use my clinic in the day for medical procedures, and for people who are overworked in the fields and for deliveries. Its also being used by some women as a refuge for maybe their husbands were abusive that night. That just confirmed to me how transformative the power of medicine can be. When you bring it to people who have never had access to it before. Varsha will be involved in a combined medical program at Rice University and Baylor College of medicine in houston, majoring in psychology. I really feel like my perspective has been shaped by my school, as well as girl scouts. And for me to realize that what i can devote my lifes energy to is combining medicine with social justice. Thats the highest number in years. But all the driving will come at an added cost. If you havent noticed, gas prices are up. Its the highest for the 4th of july weekend since 2008. The National Average for a regular gallon is 3. 66 n california its 4. 14. That seems high to most americans, but not to this tourist from denmark. It is still half price what have we pay in denmark. Reporter we set out in search of the western snowy plover. At point reyes, crissy field and here at ocean beach, the National Park service has restricted access to dunes for campers and for dogs without leashes. Excuse me, maam. Are you going up into the dunes . The threatened sixinch birds rest and nest here during their annual migrations between Washington State and baja, california. This habitat is precious stuff. It used to be that all of this was dunes. Much of this part of San Francisco was a dune system. And theres very little of that left. In reality, this might be, probably is, probably as close as you will come to seeing a snowy plover out here today. There are only 2800 of them left in the world. Its very rare and a special moment to see a snowy plover in its habitat. I know people who have worked here ten, twelve years, and they have never seen one. Some of the warning signs are almost as elusive. Signs of . Exactly. Eric fields of petaluma and his four kids watch directly along the edge of a protected area, unaware of the birds or what they look like. Would you know one if you saw one . Probably not. Today is going to be a close call because much of the shoreline will be shrouded in the low clouds and fog. The sweep atop mount st. Helena. Cloudy around the coast and bay but sunshine inland. Heres san jose. A little gray and temperatures have been reflective of all the cool air thats been transported from the coast across the bay. Down to 49. Dropped another degree in gilroy. San jose 58. 57 san carlos. We are look agent 54 in the city. Heres the view from atop vollmer peak. The east bay hills camera peeking out over the river of fog. Temperatures are in the low to mid50s from novato into fairfield. Southwest wind up to 30 miles an hour. Did manage from 90s yesterday. More in the forecast today. In fact more mid90s. Heres the roof camera where you can see the deck of low clouds. So fog around the coast and bay this morning. The warming begins inland and we will look for a little warming tomorrow, into monday at the coast and the bay will follow. So our mini warmup on the way and near 100 degrees heat inland. Its not a heat wave. Its not a huge heat wave. Its a warmup as High Pressure builds westward into the bay area. Theres the fog. It encompasses much of marin county. And by by 11 00 its banked up eye long the shoreline. Spending anytime at the beaches, definitely bring the sweatshirt. We will see numbers in the north bay around stinson and point reyes into the mid60s today. Theres the high. It builds westward. Thats why most of the heat will be in the inland east bay and the coast stays cool with the on shore push. And temperatures just in the 60s. So as we look at much of our east bay valleys, thats where the warmth comes in. And across the state. Not only are we looking at some hot temperatures, but subtropical moisture entering into los angeles for mountain thunderstorms in Ventura County and high surf building here. 86 today in Southern California with 67 in monterey. 99 sacramento. Chico 101. So we are look agent a Beautiful Day here in the east bay. Eye getting warm around the here. Upper 80s around 7 00. You notice temperatures dropping to the 60s by late in the evening. Temperatures around the bay, here are the 90s. 93 livermore. 70 oakland. 76 santa cruz. And plenty of sunshine up in the north bay. 85 in santa rosa. Like beingth way this shot looks.
