The warriors take on the clippers at 12 30 today at oracle arena in oakland as their playoff series continues. But this morning the clippers owner Donald Sterling is getting more attention than the we have an audio recording of what he told his girlfriend, to not bring black people to the games. Nick smith reports. Coaches and players from both teams admit that the sterling firestorm is a distraction. Anger and frustration could be heard around the nba after an audio recording surfaced as a man identified as Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling his his girlfriend not to bring black people to his game. People call you and tell you that i have black people on my instagram and it bothers you . Yeah, it bothers me a lot. If you want to broadcast that you are associating with black people. You have to . You associate with black people. Im not you and you are not me. You are supposed to be a delicate white or delicate latino girl. She is a black and mexican decent, posted a picture of herself with Magic Johnson on instagram. An act that agerred sterling. You can do anything but dont do things the world has to see, call me, okay . A photo of johnson and her have been removed from instagram but its causing an uproar. Magic johnson responded himself. He said i will never go to a clippers game again as long as Donald Sterling is the on the other hand. Is the owner. Coach jackson responded to the firestorm at todays practice. Unfortunate and disappointing. I dont think theres any place in society for statements like that. Sterling, the real estate mogul, bought the clippers in 1981. Hes longest tenured owner in the nba. The clippers coach, doc rivers, spoke after a Team Practice this afternoon. We had a team meeting this morning about it. A lot of guys voiced their opinions. None of them were happy about it. I think the biggest statement we can make as men, not as black men, but as men, to stick together and show how strong we are of a group. As far as his immediate standing with the team, of sterling will not be attending the clippers playoff games in oakland. Nick smith, abc7 news. This story is trending on twitter with hashtags like boycott clippers and clippers owners. Magic johnson responded saying he will never go to a clippers game again as long as Donald Sterling is the owner. He also said he feels sorry for his friends, coach doc rivers and chris paul. Kobe bryant tweeted i could not play for him. A music person said sorry about his statement and sorry for people who have to work for him. This evening even president obama is speaking out, hes confident nba commissioner adam silver will address his remarks. President was asked to comment during a press conference with malaysias prime minister. I dont think i have to interpret those statements for you. They kind of speak for themselves. When ignorant folks want to adder advertise their ignorance, you dont really have to do anything, you just let them talk. President obama said the incident illustrates that more work needs to be done in the broader, long, running struggle for civil rights in the united states. And this is ironic. Sterling is set to receive a Lifetime Achievement award from the naacp next month and the president of the naacp is now urging that he be withdrawn from the honoree list. If you get into a car accident, you probably need auto body repairs to your car. But how can you be sure the auto bodyshop really did the repairs . Michael finney has a grit way to get your car inspected for free. I was rearended back in november on 101 south. It happened and connor was stuck in stop and go traffic on hay way 101. I was sort of just sitting there and a big truck came up behind me and, boom, it hit the rear end of his bmw. There was a massive dent in my back bumper. The truckers insurance paid the 1,900 bill for repairs and connor wasnt hurt, but he said his car hasnt been the same since. The truck wasnt closing as easily as it used to. However, this isnt the biggest problem. One day my speakers went out. The bmw mechanic pulled out the amplifier and it had been soaked by water. The trunk must a leak. He had to pay 1,800 for a new amp. He now avoids driving in the rain and he suspects the leak was caused by a poor repair job on that rear end damage. He is an inspector for the california automotive repair. Hes here to inspect the car and see if the bodyshop did the repairs as claimed on the invoices. Its free. We come to their home or work. They offer free inspections to anybody in california who had odd toe body repairs done after an accident. All you do is ask and they come to you. Sometimes we uncover fraud, sometimes we uncover safety aspects. They began the inspections 13 years ago to uncover body shops that were committing fraud. Covering up damage instead of making repairs. It can cosmetically look very nice on the outside but hidden damage could be there on the inside. And hidden damage can be dangerous on the roadways, especially if the car gets hit again. There could be a suspension part not replaced as charged and the consumer could be driving down the road and have a wheel fall off. What about the bmw . The inspector removes an interior panel and inspection under the car. Generally i would say it looks as they the auto was repaired as invoiced. It looks as if the shop did repair the bumper cover and do the repairs as charged. But its not clear if theres still a dent behind the bumper cover that should have been straightened out. The bureau may take it to a bodyshop to check that out further. That inspection would be free of charge too. I think its awesome, its great. I would have no idea what to do if these guys didnt come look at my car. If you have auto body repairs done after an accident you can get a free inspection right at home too by asking. Using sonar discovered the city of chester. Heres abc News Reporter vic lee with the details. The city of chester is resting some 217 feet deep at the bottom of the channel just inside the golden gate bridge. This shot from sky 7hd shows the approximate location of the shipwreck. This is what the ships wreckage looks like on sonar images standing upright. A dense fog enveloped the golden gate channel on august 2nd, 1888. The steamship with 166 people 106 people aboard was leaving the bay. The oceanic, a ship twice as large, was coming in from asia. The oceanic had 74 chinese crewmen on board. 27 officers. They had less than a halfmile visibility so they were that close. Not only was there dense fog, a flood tide was churning the waters along with a fierce riptide. All of it was affecting the chesters navigation. It was fighting that rip tide and current. The bow of the oceanic bench penetrated the hull of the city of chester ten feet. It was described like a knife cut through cheese. After the collision scientists surveyed the area, mapping where they thought the ship sank. But for more than a century no one had located the city of chester until last may when one one of the boats found it using the old survey as guide. One who was on the boat said her team was overjoyed. We were incredibly excited. I think we all stood up and cheered. The discovery of the ship is also giving researchers an opportunity to clear up accusations made at the time about the chinese crewmembers of the oceanic. There was a lot of racism at the time that the chinese crewmen had not responded favorably to rescuing people, they were on the bow of the oceanic pulling survivors from the city of chester aboard their ship and diving into the water, saving one child. This was a sketch on the cover of the about San Francisco examiner that depicted the rescue of that child. Vic lee, abc7 news. Hundreds. It started with a design class taught by a local group called humble h. Its humbling to see it come from something this came from their head that they prototyped on their paper and now to scale in a model. They worked not on computers but in real world. Things can be one space on computer but here we have gravity and friction and all the resistance of real life and splinters and need to go sand corners the xs are a symbol.
