Pg e has crews standing by from down in san jose all the way up here into clayton and further into central california. They say the worse is yet to come. This morning the worst of it was here in walnut creek. Some lucky kids had swim team. Others ventured out but unable to run errands. The Countrywood Shopping Center went dark at 7 00 a. M. Shutting down a safeway store, a cvs and restaurants like there black bear diner. We asked one gentleman who worked for p gerks ag e, he sai four hours. They sent everyone hope. Reporter this tree limb in a nearby neighborhood was to blame as it took down power lines. All told nearly 5,000 customers in walnut creek and concord endured the heat without electricity for at least a while. Pg e is dispatching crews tonight in san jose, concord and clayton. Were using our technology and data from previous years to try to predict where the outages may happen and get our crews to those right locations. Reporter pg e is worried about thursday, whats predicted to be the hottest day. I am scared. I have three kids and heat is definitely wiping the kids out. Reporter its a problem at area Day Care Centers and p preschools. You keep them off the playground. Its too hot to be outside. We keep them in and keep them safe. Its not just people that overheat in this weather but cars too. The reason experts are saying youll want to stay below the speed limit when the temperatures heat up. The second week of summer break is just devastating for some students at an oakland school. One of their teachers was killed over the weekend. Abc 7 news was at Skyline High School as parents and students remembered the 31yearold pe teacher. He have shot early on sunday in San Francisco during an argument of some kind. He made a difference for many students during his three years as a skyline high teacher. He was always interested in what the kids were doing. He cared a lot. Where ever he was he was always smiling. Were learning new details about the tragic death of a 6yearold santa rosa girl and her 19monthold brother. Its believered their own father took their lives and his own on fathers day. Today the childrens mother broke her silence. Reporter neighbors created this memorial of flowers and stuffed animals outside the apartments. I feel sorry for this father and the heart is breaking for the kids and this mother. Reporter police say he was in a bitter custody battle with his wife killed both his children before taking his own life fathers day sunday. In an email statemented the childrens mother writes they are my precious innocent children that were beyond loved. I am not the only person that is or has gone through horrific unimaginable situation. Santa rosa police say they have records of calls beginning in april from both the husband and wife all centered around custody disputes. Theres nothing that we can determine at this particular point that shows there were any threats made, suicidal, homicide or that would endanger anybody. Reporter investigators say they encourage the couple to obtain a Custody Order which they did this past wednesday. The childrens mother says she called Law Enforcement again this weekend concerned for her childrens safety. She writes i sought help on numerous occasions and said many, many, many times my children were in danger in their fathers care. Santa rosa police say they are still digging through messages sent between the couple. Theres a significant amount of conversations that had occurred throughout the weekend. Police say three men tried robbing the woman and two men who were with her around 3 00 a. M. When the victims refused and droefr away the would be robbers hit the woman in the leg. Suspects were in a white suv with damaged drivers side door. This will prohibit local retailers from selling products. The ban will hurt them and promote a black market of flavored tobacco products. The oakland as release a new study claiming a new stadium will create a three billion. It dropped some hints as to a location decision. Sky 7 flew over the area one possible site.
