In the Sonoma County town of grayton, a hillside gave way on occidental road. And throughout Sonoma County, there have been scenes like this, storm water spilling across roadways. Spring lake, steelhead beach are closed because of flooding or the potential for flooding. The most dramatic flooding was in the north bay. Sonoma county in particular struggled with downed trees, flooded vineyards and roads and a fallout from a landslide. Cornell bernard is live with the latest. Cornell . Reporter there is so much water in Sonoma County tonight. Much of it with nowhere to go. This is walder road, it is closed because it is under water and may be for quite a while. Go reporter this flooded out road became a wake borders paradise. These guys say it was just too tempting not to took up a tow line and do some waive running. Cant wait till summertime. That left this vineyard under water, the entry gate barely visible. East side road was flooded out, but many took their chances and plowed through. Are you going to try driving through this . Local creeks caused flooding on walder road and cut off access to vineyards. Its not that bad yet, but its getting there. This is a nice stretch to zip on by. But obviously not today. I think we would say were on the storm watch like everybody else, we have the potential, and if we get a peak storm cell in the hills or something, it could affect it. A spokesperson representing the city of pacifica tells me demolition will begin tomorrow morning at 9 00, and it will take a few days to completely level this slot. Chris nguyen has the story from the south bay. Reporter the rain this week has been a pleasant sight for many, and here in Santa Clara County i feel a little crazy now that this wind is kicking up. Reporter these men came out to see it spilling over. Like in the middle of a storm. Its exciting to see the dam fill up like this. Reporter this view from sky 7 hd shows Stevens Creek reservoir is also close to capacity. Lexington is currently at 44 , and anderson, the valleys largest reservoir, is at 51 . Overall, the ten reservoirs in the south bay are at 56 of capacity as of friday afternoon. While water is at least visible, ground water supply levels are currently low. We dont know whats going to happen next year. This could be followed by several more dry years. Reporter despite the rain, conservation efforts still need to be taken seriously. Until weve fully recovered in our ground water levels and reservoirs are back to normal, we should continue those conservation habits. Reporter visitors take a moment to reflect. This is what driving on highway 101 looked like earlier today, as abc7 news road along with a chp officer. Accidents on bay area freeways went up when the rain started coming down. The chp says driving in the rain is safe or can be if you just slow down. I dont think theres any rains so strong were getting that you couldnt drive through if you maintain a safe speed and be patient about getting to where youre going. If you hit standing water like that, officer williams says you should just take your foot off the gas until you regain control. Hitting the brakes could cause a spinout. And not good. And then in the evening, the San Francisco area, and into the south bay, it winds down by saturday night. And here comes another system on sunday. Its a two. Moderate strength storm, half an inch to inch rain bringing flooding risks for the north bay. Saturday night, showers and sunday morning early, large areas of rain develop. By the way, it will be breezy with both systems. Could seei w gusts 25 to 30 miles per hour. 9 00 a. M. , wet roadways. Sunday afternoon, evening, continuing those showers, going into late sunday night. In terms of rainfall for the next two systems, youre looking at really the highest totals up in the north bay, about two inches. Most other areas should pickup about an inch of rain. As far as the north bay is concerned, thats where we still have a Flash Flood Watch until sunday evening at 5 00. Ground saturated, the creeks are swollen, so any additional rain on top could cause flooding, so be aware of that, especially if you are going to be in the north bay over the weekend. First thing tomorrow morning well go with showers. Temperatures will be lower than today. It will feel chilly, mid forts to low 50s. For the afternoon, more rain for your saturday.
