A plane made an Emergency Landing in the bay area just a short time ago and sky 7 hd was over the scene at the advertising banner and landed safely at the former Alameda Naval air station and it happened at 4 30. The pilot reported having some smoke in the cockpit and as you can see the plane touched down without any problems and the runways there shut down nearly two decades ago and this may have been the first time a plane has landed there in about 18 years. All passengers on an oaklandbound plane were okay after the pilot made an Emergency Landing back in hawaii hawaii. Hawaiian Airlines Flight 24 had to head back to the maui airport because of an odor of smoke or fumes of some kind in the cabin. The ten crew members helped to evacuate all 224 passengers using the planes emergency slides. There have been a lot of may day rallies today and may day is historically a day of protest for labor issues and perhaps social injustice and may day protesters gathered at the port of oakland before marching through the city. This annual demonstration has been centered on labor issues and immigrant, but today Union Workers and supporters focused on relations between people and police. Their goal was to affirm humanity for people of color. Another group of protesters were in oakland. Their target the buss High Tech Company such as facebook use to carry their workers to Silicon Valley and San Francisco. The protesters say the tech workers were gentrifying neighborhoods like the one near the station. Protesters sued facebook to get the word out on the protest. Immigration reform is on hold, but many people turn out to make sure no one forgets the status of many families rest with the courts. They also are concerned about the escalating costs of living in the bay area. Even with san joses living wage of 10 an hour and its impossible to make ends meet. Some are approaching a 15 wage. They think its important to send out an important message. The top City Attorney filed charges against six officers for the death of freddie gray. He was arrested april 12th and suffered a spinal injury while being transported. Grey died one week later. The medical examiner called grays death a homicide. The officers face charges from assaults to involuntary manslaughter. The officer who drove the van was charged with seconddegree depraved heart murder. They have to show the driver showed extreme indifference to gray leading to his death. Despite mr. Grays obvious and recognized need for medical assistance officer goodson in a grossly negligent manner showed to respond with mr. Gray still without seat belt in the wagon without summoning medical assistance. Today thousands marched through the streets of baltimore and another larger demonstration is scheduled for tomorrow is being called a victory rally. The charges were also cheered on by rival gangs. Martinez was arrested the next morning, but it took six long years for the case to go to trial. Gonzalez wrote letters to politicians and asked why too many times to count. All of that complicated when investigators learned martinez tried to have witnesses killed. No matter what the sentence the family says it wouldnt be enough. Well never get angelo back. Nearly 200,000 students enrolled in csu campuses in 2009 will not get their money back from the fee increases and during that time the funding cost csu officials to raise the fall semester rates of fees for undergraduates by nearly 700.
