Today, his family is facing the loss. While the face and body were indistinguishable, the clothes, wallet contents and phone matched dans personal belongings. At this time, we as a family believe the body is dans. The family does not believe the Software Developer took his own life. They say he did not leave a note. He had a doctors appointment and was scheduled to attend a work event on the day he disappeared. He did not have a history of mental illness. The process began back in june when Mountain ViewPolice Posted pictures online of items discovered in a home of burglary suspects, including watches, rings, necklaces, bracelets and high end jewelry. Nine separate victims came forward that were victims of burglaries in their cities throughout the bay area. That resulted in the arrest of a total of four subjects. Results released today show challenger Trish Spencer has unseated incumbent marie gilmore, winning by a mere 129 votes. Thats why it took so long. Gilmore conceded this morning saying a recount wasnt in the citys best interests. 10 million is approved to design a new bike and pedestrian walkway for the western span of the bay bridge. Its a two mile path that would run between San Francisco and the island. The funding was approved for the engineering study today but the total cost to actually build it is estimated at 400 million. The bike path on the east side of the bridge will be finished by next labor day. Advocates say they want to span the entire bridge, not just half of it. Nearly 25,000 pounds of frozen turkeys were delivered to the Alameda CountyCommunity Food bank this afternoon. Todays experience, while it was really terrible for that driver, its really great for the food banks in the east bay. Reporter that crash happened early this morning just after 2 00. A rollover accident involving a big rig carrying nearly 25,000 pounds of frozen turkey. The chp says the driver was traveling south on 680 near san ramon headed east towards 580, but he got confused, took the wrong exit while going way too fast. It was dark, he wasnt familiar with the ramp. As he was coming around the curve, the rear trailer began to slide. Reporter in a matter of seconds, a turkey catastrophe as they went flying across the trailer. The birds were supposed to go to a wholesale distributor not far away. Two window washers are safe tonight after being trapped in a dangling scaffold halfway down the new World Trade Center in new york city. A cable malfunctioned as they cleaned the buildings exterior. This is a brand new building that replaced the twin towers destroyed by terrorists september 11th, 2001. Harnesses kept the men tethered to the scaffold between the 68th and 69th floors above the street for nearly two hours. Firefighters had to use diamond saws to slice through two layers of glass to reach the workers. Rescued one, the rescue company assigned in manhattan is very experienced in this kind of operation. This is not the first time they have encountered this sort of incident. So they are very experienced and they were very confident throughout the whole operation. New yorks fire commissioner mentioned police and firefighters simulated a similar rescue just ten days ago. Both the window washers did not treatment for mild hypothermia but are okay. It was a risky sevenhour journey with the lander hitting at about two miles an hour. As of this afternoon, there are indications that the Philae Lander failed to anchor itself and may have bounced, essentially landing twice. The good news, its already sent back data so the European Space agency remains hopeful. Now to problems here on earth. Another bay area doctor will head to west africa to fight ebola. Uc San Francisco doctor sharam will go to liberia in middecember. There is no one with ebola in the u. S. Right now, while worldwide the death toll passed 5,000. The doctor will train Health Workers in remote villages. If you have a high quality and high level of care, people will start to seek care. So if you have good ebola treatment units that people are starting to see, if i show up and get care i have a much better chance of surviving. The doctor will relieve other ucsf doctors already in liberia. One doctor got there last week and sent these pictures of the camp where he is training local staff. He says there are new ebola prevention measures such as checkpoints to check peoples temperatures. Thousands of nurses at Kaiser Permanente medical centers in the bay area walked off the job for the second day today. The nurses held two rallies in oakland today, one at the city hall and the other at kaiser headquarters. They were joined by nurses in 16 states who are demanding tougher ebola safety precautions at kaiser hospitals. The nurses in Northern California are linking their concerns about ebola protocols and Patient Safety with their contract negotiations. The strike is expected to continue until 7 00 tomorrow morning. Concern about ebola and the flu are leading to a big increase in sales of clorox wipes. They are up 20 over last month. Clorox is based in oakland. The company says half the homes in the country use the wipes. A dozen oakland dogs at risk of being euthanized are safe in Washington State and canada. A pilot is describing how he survived when the Virgin Galactic spaceship broke up in the sky miles above southern california. He grew up in davis and earned his pilots license at the age of 16. He is now out of the hospital. Federal investigators say he told them he was unaware that his copilot unlocked the spacecrafts reentry braking system too soon. He says he was still strapped into his seat when the crash broke up and managed to unbuckle his seat belt. That triggered his parachute. Thats how he survived. The copilot died in the crash on october 31st. A new push at the State Capitol for the governor to abandon his plan for the water project.
