Only 5 contained at this point. The entire town of mariposa is evacuated. Crews are fighting this from the ground and air with about 1400 firefighters on hand right now. Firefighters say the fire is, quote, very aggressive and were expecting an interview on the overnight fight at some point this morning. As soon as we get an update, well pass that along. Reggie. He was farming for oysters at the time. Crews from four different agencies searched for the man by water and air. They say the missing man is a strong swimmer but he was not wearing a life jacket. This time, four mail trucks were broken into in this neighborhood in just the past month. 350 people in the willow glen neighborhood here in san jose were notified that they could be victims. Postal inspector says the thieves broke into the trucks when the carrier stepped away to make a delivery. Police say the group of ten young people followed him onboard and several punched him as they stole his cell phone. To see this instance where a group of ten teens, young adults, would even go so far as to follow the victim off one bus onto another and attack him, thats very brazen and alarming. So i went to the corner where it happened to talk to muni riders, where i found this Woman Holding a stolen purse. She had just escaped a muni bus after she saw kids harassing another passenger and stealing from her as she exited. She took action. They saw that i saw them stealing it, so they gave it back to me. But i tried to find the lady, but she had already walked away. So maybe you guys can find her. And give that back to her. Down the street on van ness, i saw a patrol car with flashing lights. They were interviewing the woman who had been harassed and robbed. They said and then in the bus, they have been hitting my head. Like four of them. I said, dont do that to me. Investigators believe he shot the man and left with a getaway drive in a red car. Skeletal remains found in moraga have been identified. They were found in march by a hiker. An autopsy report did not determine a cause of death, but it did determine there was no foul play. Through dna testing, the remains were identified as richen allen saimons. He was reported missing in august of 1998. We are now learning that President Trump and russian president Vladimir Putin had a previously undisclosed conversation at the g20 summit. Look at the flames that firefighters faced when they first arrived here. They got the call that this sixunit building was on fire around 12 00, right before 12 30 this morning. We cant get our dog. Go on out. Go on out. Some frantic moments there while firefighters say everyone did get out okay, no one was hurt. But some homes were destroyed. An entire california town is under an Evacuation Order this morning. A wildfire Near Yosemite National Park has now exploded in size. Its forced Governor Brown to declare a state of emergency. The Detwiler Fire is burning near mariposa and has now spread to more than 25,000 acres. Its only 5 contained, and eight structures have already been destroyed. Another 1500 are now threatened. I dont think we can emphasize enough how active and erratic this fire activity is. Stuff we havent seen before. Pg e Officials Say more than 10,000 people are without power. And at least 100 power poles have been damaged by the fire. Crews are expecting full containment by tonight of the eden fire in saratoga. Two fire engines remains at the scene overnight to monitor hot spots. At last check, the fire was 75 contained and was held at 10 acres burned near the mt. Eden winery. They recovered a drone suspected of grounding a calfire helicopter on monday shortly after the fire broke out. Flying drones over fires is illegal. And the operator could face charges. 16 1 2 hours. Thats how long it took to reopen a section of road in danville following a fatal crash. It happened on stone valley road at 10 35 a. M. Yesterday morning. Officials say a 69yearold crashed into a utility pole. No other cars were involved. In addition to the police investigation, pg e crews had to repair the pole. That section of stone valley road just reopened at 3 00 a. M. Oakland police are releasing new information on three cold case murders. Theyre hoping to finally solve these. Police say this silver daung durango is the suspects vehicle in the homicides of three weathersbe, Lamar Broussard and derrick harris. 13yearold weathersbe was shot and killed on new years eve in 2013. Just a month later, his brother was riding in a car with harris when they were both shot and killed. Investigators want to talk to anyone who has info on that suspects vehicle or who may have witnessed the shootings. A 30,000 reward is being offered. Two thieves landed in jail shortly after pulling off a brazen burglary at a cupertino verizon store. A 40yearold and 38yearold of cupertino cut a hole in the roof of the store on Stevens Creek boulevard on monday morning. You can see it under the yellow there. The two men stole nearly 140,000 worth of phones, tablets, and apple products. They were able to disable the surveillance system, disable the alarm. So definitely some prior knowledge and planning. And that will be part of the investigation to look at their history and see where they came from. They didnt get very far. Sheriffs deputies found them pulled off the side of the road in san jose. The deputy spotted the stolen apple devices all over the back seat. Nguyen is now held in county jail and tranwas released after posting bail. Uber is facing a clasaction lawsuit. It claims it discriminates against riders with disabilities in new york city. They say uber does not provide enough access to vehicles to accommodate wheelchairs. They say Wheelchair Accessible vehicles account for fewer than 100 of the 58,000 uber vehicles in new york. Uber says it has nearly 200 Wheelchair Accessible cars there. Well, we are learning more this morning about the kidnapping of a baby in San Francisco. Police arrested a woman for kidnapping on sunday. Abc 7 news has learned the babys father picked that woman up nearby and then left them alone in a car. When he got back, they were both gone. Police found the woman and the baby on a muni bus and reunited the baby with her worried mother. The dad now faces child endangerment charges. There are now details this morning on San Franciscos millennium tower. Its still sinking and tilting, but now there could be a fix. A couple engineering firms suggest drilling 50 to 100 new piles down to bedrock from the buildings basement to make it stabilized and prop it back up right. The price tack, between 100 million and 150 million. Residents would be able to stay during repaired. The high rise has dropped 17 inches and tilted 14 inches, as you can see thum the ball that just rolls on the floor. That was since construction began in 2005. The santa clara Water District is hoping to purchase ranch land for the south bay. The walter district wants to construct the 800 million reservoir right along highway 152 between gilroy and the san luis reservoir. The property is known as el toro ranch. For sale for 21 million. The reservoir would hold 130,000 acre feet of water, enough to meet the water needs of 650,000 people for a year. Good wednesday morning.
