Reporter jessica, Police Say Two men were shot and killed here late last night. As you can see behind me, this is still a very active investigation with both the Brentwood Police and contra costa deputies on the scene. The shooting started as an argument between the two dead men and a third person on the block. That argument escalated to a shooting and Police Responded at 11 14 last night. When the officers arrived on scene, they found two adult males who had suffered gunshot wounds and were later pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the resident who lives on this block was the shooter. And was not injured. The shooter is in custody and is currently being questioned by police. Police have not determined a motive but they dont believe that this was a random act. Police say there is no threat to the public. Theres currently a tarp in the middle of the intersection that appears to be surrounding at least one body, and we are waiting on the coroner to arrive here at the scene. As you can tell, some of the streets along this area of birch and 1st are blocked off so they will remain closed as the investigation continues. The heat wave has led to the deaths of two people in the south bay. Theyre identified as 72yearold dennis young and 87yearold setsu jordan. The elderly are among the most vulinable along with Young Children and people with chronic illnesses. Crews worked overnight to contain a grass fire in east san jose. Firefighters worked through the heat last night after the fire broke out around 6 30 at quimby road. Its burned ungt 54 acres, but crews have stopped forward progress of the fire. Still no word on a cause. Also in the south bay, a teenager passed out in the heat on the bernal trail in san jose. Sky 7 caught the teen talking with and being treated by emergency crews. It was more than 90 degrees when she was rescued. The extreme heat is forcing the postponement of opening day at the horse races at the Alameda County fair. This is video provided by the fair. Police are charged a person with murder. The shooting happened after an argument outside the nika lounge on salveio street on saturday morning. Police served a search warrant for the suspect in oakley. He wasnt home at the time, but chp officers arrested him later after he was involved in a crash in a stolen car. San franciscos Police Commission met to once again trying to figure out where the citys officers should be armed with tasers. The latest major Police Department in the country that does not use tasers, the last. In large part due to Strong Community opposition. Heres lilian kim. This is about the science of tasers. This happened near curtner and union shortly after midnight. One car ended up upside down. Police say when they arrived, only one person was there. Abc reporting that Emergency Responders went to a beach in texas after a stranded car, they rescued one person and also found someone dead inside the vehicle. Three men are recovering after a scary afternoon in the San Francisco bay. Their sailboat capsized in the bay yesterday afternoon just east of the Golden Gate Bridge. This video youll see only on abc 7 news. A commuter ferry tried to rescue all the boaters but only one was able to make it onboard. Eventually the coast guard got on the scene and rescued the other two. Coast guard said the three men did not take proper safety precautions. Our biggest message we can send is please wear your life jackets and wear proper clothing because the bay water is usually much colder than the air temperature. Under the plan, the bridge district says all northbound lanes will be closed from 6 00 to 9 00 a. M. On sunday, july 23rd. We estimated there are about 4500 vehicles that cross the bridge during that time, so that is a smaller number than the 15,000 people registered to run for the marathon.
