Developing news in hayward this morning, authorities investigating a Police Shooting that left a woman dead and officers looking for a wanted man. Sky7 over the scene near campus and oaks drive where the suspect crashed his car and then took off on foot last night. Officers searched that area into the night, but eventually called it off around 1 00 this morning. Fremont police tried to stop the driver earlier near an apartment complex on carlos bee boulevard. Investigators say the vehicle was stolen and want wanted in connection with multiple armed robberies. The suspect suddenly rammed the detectives vehicle and that hurt two officers. Police fired into the car, killing a woman inside that car. Two other people inside the car detained. The injured detectives were treated at the hospital and released but all in all, just a wild story that continues this morning. More developing news thats getting dozens of kids stick to their stomach. An east bay district looking at a possible norovirus outbreak. Amy hollyfield is live in dublin this morning. Reporter reggie, can you imagine the hand washing that is going to happen here at this school today. 35 kids stayed home sick yesterday from dublin elementary school. The district has confirmed that there is one case of norovirus here and the kids who stayed home have noroviruslike symptoms. Crews deep cleaned the school over the weekend and theyve doubled their custodial staff this week and theyre working with the health department. School officials are emphasizing how important it is to keep sick kids at home and to leave them there for a while. In a statement, the school said students who are experiencing vomiting and or diarrhea should not return to school for at least two full days after symptoms have ended. We appreciate all the support we have received from our families and our staff. And then also in the statement, they encouraged the families, stressing that their kids wash their hands. That ban goes into effect at 12 01 tomorrow morning. Hearings are scheduled in maryland and hawaii. California is also part of five states challenging the ban but there is not a hearing in our state. They are trying to derail the order that would impact travelers from six muslim majority countries. The first hearing starts in about an hour and a half in green belt, maryland. And b. A. R. T. Changing course on its proposed sanctuary policy now. It would have set policies on Immigration Enforcement similar to sanctuary cities. Our media partner the east bay times reports the operations and Safety Committee asked staff to rewrite the policy. Suggestions included changing the word sanctuary to safe zone. And developing news now, we know more this morning about what happened at an officerinvolved shooting that left a woman dead, two detectives hurt and one man still on the loose. People driving to cal state east bay will find this all along their route to the campus this morning. Crime scene tape and its here, its across the street here, and across the street here at oaks drive and campus drive. They have an apartment complex blocked off there. All of this as weve learned new information this morning about what exactly happened here. Now, this is all according to hayward police. They say Fremont Police detectives stopped the stolen vehicle that was wanted in connection with multiple arms robberies in fremont and the bay area. This was at the city view apartment complex on carlos bee boulevard. Police say the suspect vehicle with four people inside rammed the detectives vehicles, injuring the two detectives. Those detectives fired at the suspect vehicle, hitting a female passenger. The vehicle took off and ended up crashing near campus drive and oaks drive where were at right now. One suspect got out and ran off. A second female and another male occupant were arrested. The female who was shot by detectives was taken to the hospital where she ended up dying from hir injuries. S. W. A. T. Teams searched the area. Students at nearby Campus Housing complexes were told to shelter in place. I was just in my room waiting for my class and then i just heard the gunshots outside. I thought it was just crazy, so i went up in the window and i saw the cops going up in the hill, going really fast and i sam some ambulances doing down the hill. It was crazy. Reporter the classes were not interrupt but many roads to campus were blocked off. Hayward police has taken the lead in this investigation and we are expecting to learn more about it later today. Analysts say consumers should expect a jump in credit card rates as well as mortgage and home equity loans. Experts say this could be the beginning. The county transportation board has signed off on a study to find ways to reduce traffic on this stretch of lombard street. One proposal would require visitors to make a reservation and pay a fee to drive down the street. People who dont have a reservation would pay more for the toll. About 2 million tourists visit the windy stretch every year. The people who live there say they are tired of the crowds and the chaos this all brings. The possible recall for Santa Clara County judge aaron persky has been postponed next june. This according to the bay area news group. Persky sparked nationwide outrage last year when he sentenced former stanford swimmer brock turner to six months in jail for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman. The main reason for the delay is money. The cost of the special recall election this november would be about 6. 8 million. The cost of putting it on the primary ballot next june would be 576,000.
