An explosion in manhattans chelsea neighborhood that has injured at least 29 people appears to have been an intentional attack. Surveillance video shows the moment that the explosion happened around 5 30 last night our time. Of the 29 injuries, one is considered to be serious. Law enforcement sources say the explosion happened in a dumpster. Its now a mangled piece of metal. Mayor bill de blasio says it appears this was not a terrorist attack. Authorities safely removed a secondary device, a Pressure Cooker which was found a few blocks away. I was driving a car and next thing you know, i felt an explosion and the car tilted over. And then it came back down. What happened, i just blacked out and then the next thing i know im in the ambulance. Im a little traumatized. Just thought about how i was close to not seeing my son again. That was the scariest part of the night. Well, the mayor of new york city says theres no credible and specific threat to the city. The cause of the explosion has not been determined. President obama has been briefed on the incident of course. But has not issued a formal statement yet. Hes expected to arrive in new york city later today. Democratic president ial candidate Hillary Clinton talked about the explosion with the traveling press corps and she stressed the importance of not jumping to conclusions. Well, i think its important to know the facts about any incident like this. Thats why its critical to support the First Responders investigators, theyre looking into it. Trying to determine what did happen. Donald trump offered a different response just minutes after the explosion at a Campaign Event in colorado. Just before i got off the plane, a bomb went off in new york and nobody knows exactly whats going on. But boy, we are living in a time, we better get very tough. New york city authorities are declining to answer specific questions about the cause of the explosion. Officials say another explosion at a 5k race in new jersey yesterday morning does not appear to be connected to last nights incident in new york city. That race to benefit marines and sailors was cancelled after a pipe bomb went off. State police found the device along the raceway. It went off in an area where thousands of runners were about to start the charity race. Luckily, it was delayed because so many runners had signed up. No one was nearby when the bomb went off. Had the race gone on time, many people would have been around the area of the garbage cans where the explosion did take place and there would have been massive injuries. What the intentions are of the individual we dont know, whether its criminal or terroristic. It was meant to affect the run. New Jersey State Police and the fbi are working together to find out who is responsible. Now, even though those incidents happened thousands of miles away, San Francisco police are not taking any chances. Late last night, they released this statement saying although the no known threats to San Francisco, sfpd has increased uniformed high visibility presence throughout the city. San Francisco Police are stressing if you see something, say something. A minnesota Shopping Mall was still on lockdown after a man stabbed at least eight people. That attack happened just before 5 30 yesterday afternoon our time at the Crossroads Mall in st. Cloud. Police say an off duty cop shot and killed the suspect. The injured were taken to the hospital. Theyre all expected to survive. Detectives do not have a motive yet for the stabbings but say there is no further threat. St. Cloud is about 70 miles north of minneapolis. Four people are dead after a charter bus carrying a Junior CollegeFootball Team crashed in North Carolina yesterday afternoon. It happened near rockingham, 70 miles east of charlotte. The Highway Patrol says a flat tire blew out, causing the bus to swerve and hit a guardrail. The players were from two colleges in south carolina. 42 people were hurt. Mosaic, the Worlds Largest supplier of phosphate said it opened up beneath a pile of waste material and they said theyre monitoring the groundwater and has found no offsite impacts. We know that the contamination has not migrated beyond the immediate area of the water loss incident so theres not an urgency. Why wasnt anybody transparent enough to say you know what, a sinkhole has happened. Were working so they can show an active effort instead of a massive coverup because thats what this this looks like. Well, the sinkhole is about 45 feet in diameter. Video of an arrest at San Diego State university had prompted protests at the school. Reporter independent eyewitness accounts both before and after provide more context according to police who say the suspect was potentially under the influence of a controlled substance. People who are under the influence act erratically and can become violent. Reporter police say the suspect resisted arrest. Following protocol, the officers restrained him until backup arrived to take him into custody. And the police say they share the concerns, concerns that are not entirely addressed according to several protesters. Its not really adding up. In arizona, a mother called the police to help her young daughter learn a lesson about seat belt safety. Her 3yearold daughter camille took off her seat belt during a ride home. She pulled over to explain to camille the importance of seat belts, but camille was not sure about the need. So her mom called in te cops for a little backup. It was an extreme choice on my part to call the police, but i knew she was going to remember it.
