All four people on board walked away. You can see it flipped over on the runway. It happened around 8 45 last night at the reed hill view airport. Single edge cessna was landing when the landing gear hit the side of the runway. Only one passenger went to the hospital with a minor injury. The federal Aviation Administration is investigating how a skydiving demonstration killed a sky diver in madera yesterday. Thousands of people at the festival witnessed the tragedy. A reporter from our sister station in fresno reports on what went wrong. In a split second a family festival became the scene of an accident. Everyone was just pointing at the sky, and i looked to see someone fall in the parachute. Authorities say a 65yearold sky diver was taking part in an airshow and was trying to land at a madera airport. The victims chute was tangled. Attempts were made to disrupt the tangling of the chute. They proved to be unsuccessful. Hundreds of feet away the victims first chute landed among a row of trees. Witnesses say this is video of that first chute landing in trees far away from his body. Out of the corner of our eye we saw the lose parachute and it was flying all by itself like a deflated balloon, going down by itself. The sky diver himself fell next to alexs truck, who said he was in that railroad spot just minutes before the crash. Sounded like a car hit something and turned around and sure enough, it was the gentleman that had fallen between the cars. The federal Aviation Administration is now involved in the investigation to find out how exactly this tragedy could have happened. Abc7 news. A car crash caused a gas leak in san jose. I have concerns will how this commission can receive. 25 volunteers from all walks with a common goal, investigate jails in Santa Clara County following the death of an inmate last august. Three deputies were charged with his murder. But the judge said she was shocked to learn the county hired a private consultants to do the same job in secret. Its usually held on market street. This year organizers moved it to Fishermans Wharf in an effort to attract a larger crowd. A Major Veterans Organization is suing the city of San Francisco. The legal battle is over office space in a building dedicated in their honor. But the vets are feeling dishonored and they will be back in court later this week. Veterans from many of the nations wars gathered at San Franciscos superior court, supporting a lawsuit against the city. They have basically treated us like the ugly stepchildren. Veterans have been saluted with a beautiful granite memorial and reflecting pools on a site with earth from some of the battlefields. The legal bats is over the building next door. The war Memorial Veterans building was recently renovated, and just reopened. And while it was dedicated to veterans back in 1932, the lawsuit alleges they are now being pushed out, in favor of high society tenants like thethe opera and other arts organizations. Every time a veteran entity attempts to put a veteran Service Organization into this space, they are met with gating requirements roadblocks that other organizations that are perhaps more privileged are simply not. On friday fish and wildlife officially postponed the commercial dungeness crab season. It was supposed to started to. The honey bee, these urban bee keepers and the couple is on a crusade to get Home Improvement stores to remove pesticides that kill honeybees from their shelves. They said a chemical involved is the reason their pollinators are dying off at his hive. We should have had about 60 pounds of honey from our bees. This year we harvested only 25 pounds.
