Fire broke out just after 8 00 last night on a warehouse on Second Street near hearst avenue. It was home to office and retail space. One of the businesses destroyed was the wooden duck. Its been milking furniture since 1995. Its in fortunate that he is i dont know when his livelihood will be now. He spent 15 years building that business up. Lets hope he can put it back together. We went to three alarms with the berkeley fire alarms and three additional arms within the county. We have anywhere from almeda city, almeda county, oakland, i believe, and multiple people from around the county came to help us. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. It also caused Amtrak Train Service to stop for a while. These people were waiting at the emeryville station. Fire department worded the halt because the hoses were running across the tracks. The fire also led to fire outages nearby. When it was at its worst, fire was out to 1500 customers. Pg e asked them to shut down power in the area. You see the sparks fly when transformers blue. Crews have been able to get power on to the majority of the customers. Three people are suffering from injuries after the car they were riding in slammed into a tree in san jose. Happened on sun crest avenue just after 1 00 in the morning. Two people were trapped inside the car. Jaws were life were called in to get the people out. A total of three people were injured. Authorities say their injuries are not considered to be life threaten. No word yet on what caused the accident. This morning the National Transportation safety board is looking into what caused the deadly crash between a fed ex truck and a school bus. Happened thursday on i five in glen county. The ntsb says no tire marks from the truck were found, indicating the driver did not attempt to stop. He identified the truck driver at 32yearold tim evans of okay grove. Chuck sievertson has the latest. Reporter investigators are combing the area, searching for crews to the fiery explosion from a fed ex tractortrailer slammed into a tour bus full of collegebound high school students. The bus driver made defensive maneuvers to avoid the truck. There was action on the part of the driver to stop the vehicle. They are also sag there was a reaction beyond just the braking, the serving to the right. And a woman saw it strike the truck. A driver reported seeing flames underneath the tractortrailer before it everybody swerved across the median and into the oncoming bus. The southbound lane at a 10degree angle, and there are no tire marks, which would be no braking tire marks in the median or the northbound lanes. This charred mangled shell, claimed the lives of ten many people and injured others. The bus was only in service about a month and was equipped with seatbelts. The mileanhour county Sheriffs Department has confirmed a body found on Mount Tamalpais is that of a missing hiker. The woman has last seen on the 30th. She recently moved to the area. They received a tip from a runner who said he saw her saturday. They narrowed their search area. Search dogs found her body yesterday morning. The body was located in a very remote rugged area, drainage off of what might be considered one of the more common trails used here in the mountain. Its unusual for people to travel these areas, which would explain as to why she had not been located up to this point. A cause of death has not yet been determined. An oakland man is in marin county jail this morning on suspicion of rape rapes a woman in sausalito. The suspect, the 51 ears old, met the woman to discuss a possible job opening. He bought her drinks and assaulted her in a park. She then locked herself in a bathroom stall and called police. Police were called to the 16th and linden streets just before 1 00 yesterday after a shooting. Victim was found in the street. He was last listed in stable condition. No one is arrested. Moments after they responded to the shooting an Oakland Police officer was involved in an accident a short distance away. His car was hit by another vehicle. That was just after 1 00 in the afternoon. The officer suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized. The other driver was not injured and stopped and cooperated with police. Today is palm sunday. From fox but ended up with a two wheel drive instead. A couple weeks before christmas we are out of hundreds of dollars and the check never came. I called. We called, my wife called. No check. The Municipal Transportation Agency wants to start a Pilot Program this july. Every shared vehicle on the road means that theres ten fewer private vehicles. Theres fewer people compete fourth limited number of Parking Spaces in our neighborhood. There are 281,000 parking spots in San Francisco but giving up 900 is controversial. Well, this is already congested now. One of the three companies the city has selected for the twoyear pilot is get around. Where car owners rent their wheels to others. Whether its having the its usage that will be shared with the entire community. Theres a tiny demonstration project that is funded by a company who will be a partner in the Pilot Program. Is it 11 space necessary this neighborhood. And seven cars have been set aside for car sharing. The more cars we can get out there, the more we can provide people the opportunity to get rid of a car or get rid of all cars and go car free and live in the city. Starting today, parking meters are no longer free on sundays in walnut creek. Last week the city launched their new daily and costly parking meters. The rates doubled to two dollars an hour. Meter enforcement is from ten to eight seven days a week. City leaders say its an effort to have more turnover in the shopping and dining areas. But the changes come in with the burn off, the wind direction allowing for a more northerly push today and that will scour us out. So low clouds and fog for everyone and we will look for conditions a little bit warmer today due to a northerly wind. Then by tomorrow, late tomorrow it does reverse and the beaches will stay cool. By tuesday we are going to cool it back again. So a couple of days of warmer weather. Then we will cool it back for tuesday and wednesday. Then, yeah, you guessed it, another warmup by later on in the week. So here comes the High Pressure that builds in to the eastern pacific. And what that will do is compress the marine layer and back off that onshore push. As we go through the next couple of hours, everyone pretty much cloudy except for vacaville. By 10 00 we will see mostly sunny conditions, still fog from the marin coast to the san mateo coast. Even that clears.
