Dealing news out of the east way where repairs are underway after a bart train jumped the track. It happened last night at 6 30 at the concord station. Both lines on the pittsburgh line were blocked yesterday. Repairs are expected to last through today and there is travel offered for people offer in that direction. We have more from concord. Reporter the bart train derailed just after 6 30 at the height of the evening commute and its going to take a long time to get trains running through here again. We will not have bart service past this station all day through the evening. From sky 7hd you can see how the train came to rest, blocking rails in both directions. Thats the reason all trains were stopped between Pleasant Hill and pittsburgh bay point a bart spokesperson said the train operator on board was not injured in the accident. This derailment caused a lot of damage. We have to bring in special vehicles and vehicles to get the train back into the track and theres damn to the train and rail and thats going to take time, repairing the damage to the transaction and the third rail. Its not the first time the bart train derailed in the same part. Three years ago a tencar sfo track came off the track. About 65 passengers were on board at the time and there were minor injuries and it took nearly a full day to hoist the train back on to the track. Someone may b. Trying to poison dogs again in San Francisco twin peaks and Diamond Heights neighborhoods. This sign warns of a familiar station. Last july several dogs were sickened by eating cooked meatballs containing rat poison. Now theres reports three dogs have been sickened in in the sae area where the previous poisoned happened. Even neighborhood without dogs are concerned. Its really terrible because a lot of people have dogs and they take them out and they walk them, and eats its disgusting. Police are warning residents with dogs to be extremely careful waking around the neighborhood. And someone is throwing full Water Bottles at throwing vehicles. Six incidents have been confirmed in Sonoma County but there may be ten in one area. A transit dust bus and two school bus versus been hit the last week. One bus driver was on her way to pick up special education students thursday when a water bottle crashed into her bus. The bottle came flying and hit the back of the mirror. Petaluma down the road is pretty mild. Mid40s by the delta with low 40s concord and livermore. The visibility right now from novato to Half Moon Bay, just a little bit in the way of low clouds and fog. Elsewhere you are clear and you are chilly so the exploratorium camera shows it is a nice night out here or morning. We will look for the patchy low fog and clouds to continue at the coast over the weekend. More widespread tomorrow. That will bring a cooler day shore lane. But overall mild days with numbers above average. The wet pattern sets up by the middle of next week. So heres a look at our pacific satellite picture where the storm track continues to provide the blocking ridge of High Pressure, sending moisture well up into canada. So we are dry all the way through oregon and washington and we will continue to see the pattern throughout the weekend. But we are fast forwarding to next wednesday. The 26th. Thats when the rain will move across the bay area. Its the first system so it has to moisten up the atmosphere and it will see some light rain a break behind that as the next system cues up. This one focusing much of the activity south of San Francisco. So finally for you folks in the south bay and the Central Coast looking at significant rain, slick roadways, high winds, and it should last into saturday. So in terms of high temperatures today, we should see numbers in the lower 60s for San Francisco. So a bit of an on shore flow with 63 there. 66 over in oakland and still forecasting some temperatures near 70 degrees. So is that keeps us anywhere for about two to seven degrees above average. 69 in santa rosa. A few more high clouds along the shoreline with the on shore flow. Low clouds, as well. Santa cruz coming in at 65. 68 in san jose. And the accuweather sevenday forecast shows the mild pattern for today. More low clouds and fog bringing a slight cool down tomorrow. High clouds for a partly cloudy day on monday and tuesday. Here comes the rain on wednesday. A chance lingers into thursday with more significant rain sets up for friday. And not out of the question to see perhaps several inches of rain here. Maybe not that 12 to 14 inches we saw a couple weeks ago, but perhaps three to five inches bay area wide. For the short term we have sunny and mild conditions throughout the day today. A few areas of fog and question will lack for temperatures once again well above average. But with the return to more on shore push and higher clouds, we will be looking at rain headed our way. We are following developing news out of the east bay where bart service a impacted this morning after a train jumped the tracks. It happened around 6 30 last night at the concord station. Officials say an out of Service Train just left the station when its wheels went off the tracks. Bart officials expect refirst to run through today. We will not have bart service past the station all day through the evening. We will bring in special vehicles and cranes to get the train back on the tracks and then theres damage to the track and the third rail and thats going to take the time to repair the damage to the track and the third rail. Bart is operating a shuttle train between pittsburgh, bay point and concord. And also Pleasant Hill stations. Those traveling in the San Francisco direction are encouraged to go directly to the Pleasant Hills station. The impact of the drought is getting worse. The federal bureau of reclamation decided california farmers will get any water from the Central Valley project and urban areas like the Silicon Valley will see theirs half. This is truly an unprecedented circumstance that the state Water Project and the Central Valley project are so limited in what they can provide. Reporter first it was the state deciding three weeks ago it cant provide water and now the u. S. Bureau of reclamation Central Valley project sag its allocation will be 50 of normal for residential users and 0 for agriculture. They normally get their water from those two sources. Losing the water is prompting agency staff to urge users to cut back on consumption by 20 instead of the 10 requested last month. We are still hopeful that we were looking at dry as opposed to critically dry. I think now we all know that even if it rained it was very wet for the rest of the year we would not see the run off certainly statewide. That puts pressure directly on homeowners. San jose resident jean adams thinks the 20 reduction is doable. Anything i can do, not let the water keep running when im brushing my teeth, which seems to be a habit, im cutting this back. So everything i can do and everything i can think of at the time i will certainly try. The adams family is having the lawn aerated to reduce water run off and sprinkle time.
