They are still wrapping up what the crew is doing on the scene and say just the front of the restaurant where there is a small eating area is damaged and will be closed for a few weeks. The rest of the restaurant seems to be okay. We have video after the file starts after 3 00 this morning, they are now saying that they thing the fire starts below the restaurant, below because the restaurant is raised slightly above ground. Firefighters, fortunately, responded quickly and were able to keep the fire from spreading to next door businesses. We still do not know much. Here is what they told abc7 news this morning. They will be out of business if some time. There is some interior damage. But they have a Sprinkler System and it held the fire mostly to the exterior. There is significant damage to the front of the building and down the side and unneath toward the basement. Again, a small update to what the acting deputy fire chief says moments ago, that just a portion of the front of the restaurant is damaged and it is just a small eating area, but, again, the kitchen is in the back of the restaurant and no one was in the restaurant for about an hour and a half define when they close asked when the fire ignited so a lot of questions remain, where it starts, how it starts and of course this investigation will continue as the morning progresses. San jose police have made an arrest in the murder of a man who was reportedly missing nearly two weeks ago. What is bizarre is where they found his body. The family of the man say he vanished february 18 from apartments. Police checked the apartment but did not find him. The investigation brought them back to the apartment yesterday and that is when they found his body. He had been stabbed. Investigators and a close friend wonder how he got which. About a month ago the police came. They could not find him and now they find him. You cannot overlook a body in a one room apartment. Obviously he wasnt here. The fact he turned up here, again, later, is something we have to piece back together like a puzzle. So far police will only say they are confident they have the right person in custody for the murder. The city of santa cruz begins the slow process of healing now, after saying goodbye to two Police Officers who were killed in the line of duty. Thousands of people gathered for an emotional memorial yesterday. Officers, dignitaries, friends and family filled san jose h. P. Pavilion to honor and celebrate the lives of two Santa Cruz Police officers, with detective Elizabeth Butler remembered for her work as a detective and for her dedication as a mother of two young sons. The world renowned alice water restaurants could have been saved by what appears to be one small sprinkler at the front of the restaurant. You can see there is extensive damage to the front exterior of the building, just a small portion of a front dining room inside is damaged.
