You see the flashing lights, this is where we have a suspect dead, a car that crashed into a tree. Until a short time ago we had students on lockdown at West Park Elementary School. Lets go to some areas from sky 7 at this point. It began about 2 00 on gwen owe street in napa, not farah way. Police and sheriffs deputies responded to a call of shots fired in a house. They established the perimeter around it, and then they say the suspect drove out of the garage, trying to escape in the honda, firing shots at them. Police returned fire. By our account from looking at the sky 7 video, they put at least 20 bullets into that car, killing the suspects who crashed into a tree. Witnesses say his horn continued to blare, his windshield wipers kept turning. The deceased suspect remains in the car to our knowledge. They took no chances at West Park Elementary School where students said they heard some of the shots fired. Now their parents are walking them home only now at this point. A new law enacted by congress in 2015 requires the irs hire debt collectors to help pay for new roads. But these new contracts could cause a spike in scam calls. A major retailer is being called out by an Environmental Group accused of miss labeling its tuna as dolphin safe. Michael joins us with the story. This is a bay area connection, too. In 1990, a berkeley Environmental Group changed fishing practices across the globe. This is one right there. Youre looking at one of the first cans of tuna with a dolphinsafe label. Something most now take for granted. Now Earth Island Institute is calling out walmart claiming its costa rica stores are selling this tuna that is not dolphin safe even if the label claims otherwise. Earth island says mexican fishermen are tracking dolphin pods, knowing those pods will lead them to tuna. Milelong nets surround the pods catching tuna but slaughtering dolphins in the process, and leaving their offspring to die. Speed boats are going along and theyre chasing the pod of dolphins. The babies cant keep up with the pod so they are left behind and they die of tar vegas, they die of preditor eating them. Abc 7 news has reached tout to walmart but we have not heard back. There is a new attraction at Golden Gate Park and it takes people back to the gold rush days. Abc 7 news was at chain of lakes drive as these horses grazed before heading out on trail rides. That is something that hasnt been offered at the park for several decades. The recollect and Parks Department brought the horses back for two months to engage public interest. Its a different experience than renting a bike or segue to tour the park. The horses make the ride a lot more interactive. These horses, they know people how they are. Especially when you pet them when you go on rides. Some people, riders get scared. Theyll figure out how you are. The horses come from arizona. Theyll be at Golden Gate Park until may 20th. This is the result of a decades long effort to restore the population of these birds and give them places to live. They have a rich habitat here. Reporter the head of the local Audubon Society says leaving trees for the birds is the latest step thats brought nearly a dozen nesting pairs of eagles to an area that had none a decade ago.
