A warning from police in the south bay this july fourth, officers from multiple agencies will be out looking for people lighting off their own fireworks. Fines range from 500 to a thousand dollars. I personally have seen a 3yearold child who took a Bottle Rocket to the chest and it penetrated all the way to her heart. In more ado, the country club has closed the golf course where the fireworks display is launched because residents have been launched from the grounds. The city may consider canceling future displays. Fireworks might be to blame for this wildfire in pittsburg. Firefighters stopped the flames before they got to homes in pittsburg. The fire broke out between 11 00 and burned three and four acres next two two housing developments. The flames damaged three fences. Fire crews are trying to figure out what started a grass fire in contra costa in alhambra. Two fires merged into one before they were able to put it out. Oakland fire crews are happening battle a wildfire near the American River in el dorado and placer counties and they posted this video on twitter. The trail head fire has scorched more than 5,000 acres and forced evacuations near georgetowntown and foresthill. 2600 structures are threatened and this fire is 25 contained. You could see vallejo firefighters working to free a driver whose suv overturned. That collision happened at 12th street and solano around 8 30 this morning. Paramedics took three people to the hospital to be treated. Rescue crews had to remove the windshield to get one of the victims out of the suv. This is one of the largest hometown parades in america. You are talking 170 floats, 2500 arts and 20,000 people watching. This parade just goes on and on and on. For hours. How do you qualify for this parade. I dont think there is any qualification. There may be disqualifications but no actual requirements outside of signing up and showing up. They showed up all right. If we had done a roll call, it would account for most of alameda marching in the parade or watching it. Damien wilson chose the latter. Some people set out chairs at 6 00 p. M. Yesterday to snag the prime viewing spots. This parade goes back to 1958. Well the king of rock and roll helped greet big crowds at the rose, white and blue parade in san jose this morning. This years theme was bicycle on the alameda. Organizers encouraged people to take bikes out to explore the historic neighborhood. Fireworks may be illegal in very neighborhoods but they are popular in san bruno. We were at the Shopping Center as residents lined up to buy safe and sane fireworks. Most were spending way over 100 to entertain their families later tonight. This is just a good time to get the family together and something for the kids to do and they have a good Time Lighting everything up. Just the three of us hanging out in front of my house. Once a year, it is a treat. San bruno is one of the few cities to allow fireworks it is a fundraiser for the organizations that sell them and some raise about 15,000 for their groups. We have blue skies over the embarcadero right now but low clouds and fog are stacking up at the coastline and beginning to spill through the golden date. But well see low clouds pushing inland. Cooler than average tomorrow and will remain cooler than average for the remainder of the week. But a warmer pattern developing ore over the weekend. And low temperatures under foggy conditions in the Early Morning hours generally in the low to mid50s. And then tomorrow well see the fog bring back to the coastline much as it did today. Other news now, the death toll from saturdays suicide truck bombing in baghdad has risen to 157 with more than 190 people injured. One of the worst single attacks in iraq in more than a decade. The explosion ripped through a busy market place crowded with families who had just ended their ramadan fast. Isis has claimed responsibility. This is the militant groups third attack in a week after bangladesh and turkey. A series of explosions rocked saudi arabia including a blast near the holy sites in the city of medina. The explosion set a building on fire that overlooked a mosque. There is no information on whether anybody was injured or killed. The blast happened after two suicide bombers struck in different cities, kill without killing anyone. One of those happened near the u. S. Consulate.
