Police have released a surveillance image of the white van they say was involved in a fatal hit and run last friday. A man in his 60s was found dead at the scene. Here is another look at the vooek involved. Police are looking for a white van with no windows. Police are looking for the person who shot a man just before noon. Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots. The victim had at least one gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital. A shelter in place for that area has been lifted. Abc7 news was there as pg e crews finished patching up a gas distribution line that broke on sunday. That intersection will be closed until city leaders can determine exact cause and make sure its safe again. We see the sinkhole and we dont know whats going on under the pavement. So there is a possibility it is much larger. About 300 customers are still about gas service and pg e continues to go door to door to contact them and turn the gas back on. Customers will have to call and make an appointment to restore service. Highway 121 will remain closed between Wooden Valley road and circle oaks drive. A rock slide left trees and chunks of pachvement scattered across the highway. Drivers are urged to use 29 and 1 as alternatives. And take a look at this. This is on highway 3 near rush creek road in trinity county, which remains closed until crews can finish repairs. Back with one of the most dangerous stretches of road in San Francisco will be getting a little safer for pedestrians and drivers. Just a short time ago, San Franciscos Municipal Transportation Agency approved a 12 million safety overhaul for the area. Amy hollyfield shows us what is going to change. There were concerns that terminally ill californians that took advantage of the death with dignity drugs would forfeit their Life Insurance, but the law would have no negative impact on terminally ill patients. Opponents of the law maintain it opens the door to abuse. An old internet scam is finding new life. One small typo could put you in the hands of scammers. Unethical people are buying domains of popular websites. The hope is that you mistakenly sign into their phony sites and get tricked into downloading their malware. This scam is known as typo squatting. People who dont even known a car will soon be able to drive for a ridesharing company. The drivers must make at least 65 trips a week to get the best part of the deal. Drivers who dont meet the minimum will play extra on a sliding scale. The program is in its pilot stain. A decision is expected any time now. Vic lee joins us live at city hall with the story. Vic . Reporter larry, ama, last week the supervisors and the staff of the metropolitan Transportation Commission reached an agreement on provisions to reduce the towing fee here at the city, a fee that almost everyone would agree is ast ast ast astronomicily high. And the board is expected to approve the plan tonight. Davids work truck was towed two months ago. He was physically unable to get to the tow yard until now. Total bill so far, 5600. I had to buy another truck because the fees were so much, it was cheaper to buy another vehicle. Reporter trevors car was also towed. It too has been sitting here. My bill is up to 1700 now after two weeks. Reporter the daily storage fees for towed vehicles may be steep. But the towing charges in San Francisco are set to be the highest in the country. Minimum cost, currently 491 and change. Thats not even counting the parking ticket. 600 for a single mistake is punitive. Reporter the deal reached between the metropolitan Transportation Agency and the supervisors would reduce towing fees by about 100. For those households, we will be reducing the tow fees by 50 . Reporter most of the reduction will come from an administrative fee which the city attaches. A fee that has exploded in recent years. In the last seven years, it has grown by over 430 to z 266.
