As i soon as i mentioned that the cops were behind to relax, kind of got frantic and just started wanted to get out, trying to get out. But, of course, he wasnt going nowhere. His legs were just, you know, pinned to the car. Police say the ins dent began with a routine traffic stop. Police say they never gave chase due to the dangers of high speeds in neighborhoods. The suspect never realized that. It took rescuers quite a while to pry him from the car. They peeled back the roof of the vehicle. And as we come back now, were looking at some of the mangled metal still remaining in this neighborhood. Of the nine cars hit, only where you know was occupied. He then careened down that sidewalk. Thats where the nine other cars were parked. Fortunately, no one was in any of those cars. Were still awaiting more details right now from the district attorneys office. We have been understanding through most of the day that this began with a police chase that they quickly aborted. Now, the suspect never got that information. The yhp says a Fatal Shooting last night on interstate 80 may be related to another shooting on the same stretch of freeway earlier this month. In last nights ins dent, a man was shot and killed around 11 00. A female passenger was wounded. That comes agt days after traveling westbound. Jovan lopez is under arrest for the murder every of a Popular Ice Cream vendor. Police arent saying what they believe the motive was. Too much overtime in the Oakland Fire Department is forcing the city to temporary reduce medical services in west oaklands downtown. The city says engines will still have paramedics. The agency spent 20 million in overtime last year. A San Jose Police officer shot at the man who broke into a home today. Its the citys 11th officerinvolved shooting this year. He said he didnt look like a construction worker or didnt recognize him. So he decided to call police. I also spoke to another construction worker. He said he believes theres still four or five construction workers out there. Not long ago, i heard two loud sounds coming from there. Im not sure what they were. Theres about a dozen police cars, theres a lot of the construction workers that with were up on that building site out here waiting to hear
