Were starting to see some hail around the east bay around 580, livermore, dimesize hail in that area. Were keeping that in the forecast. Due to the potential for some flash flooding, flash flood watches have been posted until 8 00 p. M. Tonight, so be aware of the fact that these thunderstorms are carrying very heavy rain, and you can see well still have it in the forecast the next few hours. So far highest rain totals, over an inch of rain in san jose. 1. 38 in moffett field. Almost an inch and a half, oakland. We were driving over the mountain, because in marin county this morning, clear blue skies. Then we cook highway 128. Take a look at this picture i took, maybe 25 minutes ago on the road in. That is the sky. That is highway 128. Over that mountain is one of those thunderstorms, one of those thunder cells that sandy was talking about. Just a black sky, came out of nowhere. We got out of the mountain and wound up in a cloud burst. The concern over that mountain in those fire zones is because theres no vegetation. So you could have mudslides and all kinds of problems. A cattle rancher said he was concerned about his land, if not now, but later on in the year. The watch extends until 8 00 tonight. Let mess show you the napa river here. This is probably more river and more water in the napa river than people have seen here for a very long time. Its not flowing real fast. But believe me, a few minutes ago, when the deluge was here, it was flowing pretty well. So although you may be in places right now where the sun is shining, there were places where the sun is not shining. There were places where its just plain down right ominous. This truck carrying 30,000 pounds of frozen chickens overturned at 2 15 a. M. On a west bound 508 before the greenville road exit. All lanes opened at 1 30 this afternoon. A real downpour this morning in the santa cruz mountains. A driver lost control about 3 00 in the morning. The driver is okay. In east contra costa county, the wet roads may have caused this accident on byron highway. Firefighters and Highway Patrol responded just after 6 00 a. M. During a wet morning commute. One person was taken to the hospital. Abc7 news was in oakland as pg e crews fanned out to fix several outages. As of a short time ago, about 800 customers were still without power. This happened june of last year and captured on Surveillance Video. Reporter the Surveillance Video shows the Security Guard smacking the student Francisco Martinez several times. From a different angle, you can see the disabled student thrown out of his wheelchair. In court today, mitchell was sentenced to five years probation. His mother said it was a big lesson for her son. The Different Things and the different violence that do happen while youre in jail or in prison was pretty, you know, it was a wakeup call. Reporter in court today, the former Security Officer told the judge it was a lifelearning lesson and asked the victim and family for giveness for harm. Mitch mcconner. Mitchell reao a bad situation. Reporter shortly after the incident, students came to the defense of the Security Guard. But Oakland Unified School district officials maintained mitchell should have kept his cool. Reporter but opponents spent a lot of money to defeat the issue, more than 8 million has been spent by the no on ffx campaign. Vote no on prop f. Its just too extreme. They dont care about neighbors suing neighbors. More importantly, it allows the city to go after them when it lists illegal and unregistered units. Reporter dale carlsons group has raised just 300,000. He knows the campaign is being outspent and the opponents have lots of local endorsements, including the mayor who says prop f goes too far. And why the sheriffs election could be the last one. Live, from the kgo broadcast center, this is abc7 news. Heavy rain continues to hit parts of the bay area. This video was shot heading into vallejo. And take a look at our camera, an ominous sky building. And a live look from our east bay hills camera, you can see a mass of rain blocking the view there. You usually see right across the bay. And just another view of the sun breaking through the storm. This is a live look from our emeryville camera. A blanket of clouds above the golden sky. And a new video showing a messy drive for commuters. This is flooding just before 4 00 this afternoon. Drivers are being told to please slow down that the rain will continue for another couple of hours. And the south bay saw some of the rain during this storm. Rainwater sent the guadeloupe river into a rage. And in the north bay, marin county saw most of its rain this morning. You can see it pouring at the ferry terminal. Rain continuing to follow just north of marin. A Flash Flood Warning expired half an hour ago. The areas burned by a wildfire have a much greater chance to flood or have land slides. Notice that the thunderstorms basically came out of the north. They tracked across the north bay and worked their say into the east bay. Lightning strikes still showing up, just south of the utimon area. Were going to continue to see some heavy downpours, black hawk taking you down to street level. Not out of the question to continue to see some downpours and even some hail. Peasized hail in the inland east bay. We still have a flash flood
