Vera wrote should a Health Care Company let their customers know in advance if they plan to terminate the coverage or can they just terminate the coverage . I got to tell you this gets really really complicated. First of all, here in the state of california we have two agencies, hmos are regulated and watched over by the department of managed care. Then the normal policies, i should say the Traditional Health insurance policies are covered and regulated by the department of insurance. They both have a whole bunch of rules and the bottom line is for most of us they have to give you warning if they are going to cancel the policy. Now, the big if you miss a payment you almost always, your insurance quits that moment. You got to be aware of that. Although under some circumstances, they have to tell you that they are terminating you. It gets very complicated. If you are having a problem with this call those two agencies figure out which one you are under and ask for help. This last one is long and complicated. Hang with me here. Is this a valid request or an effort to break into my bank account . An effort to break into your bank account. Theres no way an employer should have any of this information. Its one thing if they say we want to do direct deposit and you give them those numbers. All that other stuff they are simply trying to rip you off.
