Abc News Reporter joins us live now with the latest on the investigation. Good afternoon. Officials said it could take months to get to the bottom of the gruesome, deadly crash. California Officials Say they do not know what caused a fedex tractor trailer to veer across the grassy divider and slam into a bus i know people want information regarding the investigation that takes a lot of time. Investigators will try to determine who is at fault. We dont know whether the driver fell asleep, a mechanical failure or a separate collision that caused him to lose control. Officials are left with the grim task of identifying the bodies due to the fact that the bodies suffered burns made our task more difficult. A group of teenagers from a dozen high schools were on a college tour. This video captured the ball of fire erupted when the two vehicles collided. One student was asleep and awoke to screams. I couldnt breathe. The smoke was everywhere. You could not see. You just saw the light from windows and everybody coughing. Students scrambled to escape, only to watch as many of their friends perished inside. Ten are dead, five students and dozens more, injured. They have cleared the wreckage and the highway is back up and running but there is a huge burnt hole in the ground next to me where the truck melted into the highway. Thank you very much.
