another fire burned about 75 acres and 60% contained. earlier there were four fires including this two acre fire from sky 7 burning near the vineyard autos the strong winds brought fires into san had sunny skies and three main ingredients for elevated fire risk. high winds, high temperatures, and low humidity. and those conditions are still with us. let's take a look at the peak gusts towards western sky. these were gusts measured last night. mount hamilton, 64 miles per hour. gusts over 40 at napa airport and richmond. now we're looking at opposing wind flows making our forecast tricky. we still have gusty winds in places and winds blowing from the north and inland locations and from the west in other locations. we have to determine how much cooling there is going to be at the coast. how warm inland based on how these conflicted wind flows play out. low humidity around or below 10% is quite dangerously low contributing to elevated fire risks. we still have red flag warnings until 6:00 this evening for high fire risk over higher elevations across the bay area. record dry vegetation or fuels. and concern for fire remains elevated. i'll have more looking into tomorrow's forecast people from using barbecues and gardening equipment that could spark a fire, but it's hard to make sure everyone is getting that message. >> red flag waved outside of the fire station warning residents this a.is a high fire danger day. the chief monitors the winds. he can also watch the relative humidity, anything below 20% is dangerous. by 11:00 in the morning it had dipped to 15. fuel, weather, and topography are the three factors in fires. residents are required to clear weeds and vegetation from homes but officials say a red flag day is not the day to do it them warned heat and sparks could cause the fire they're trying to prevent. mike davis knows today is a red flag day and knows the hazard his equipment brings but he says he takes precautions like checking for rocks that
