With that unstable crane finally out of the way, most evacuees can start to go home again. So, as we restored those residences that were only evacuated due to being in the collapse zone, we able to let those people back in. Reporter tonight . Tonight. I was pleasantly surprised when they told us that. I wasnt expecting to get in for at least a couple days. Reporter the valdez fire erupted before dawn in an Apartment Building currently under construction. 700 to 900 people were evacuated and about a dozen businesses were impacted. The call to evacuate several blocks in every direction came fast. I live with my sister, and sh she has a newborn baby. The baby is only one month old. When they shade we have to evacuate as soon as possible, we didnt have anything in our hands. Reporter and now waiting for word to hopefully return home is also hard. It is definitely sad. I mean, what else can we do now . Other than just waiting. We cant force them. Reporter and the city will be updating its website with addresses that have been deemed safe to return to. Any that have a little bit of damage will have to have inspectors come in and do checks starting tomorrow morning. Abc 7 news. Were getting our first look at Surveillance Video captured before another suspicious fire at another construction site. The may fire came after the complex had been gutted by flames last july. A 100,000 rewards being offered in the case. Now to the wildfires burning across the state tonight. Cal fire is out trying to stop the flames. There at least four major fires burning. We begin in Southern California where crews are working on an fire thats burned more than ha 10,000 acres. Shifting winds are making it difficult to contain that fire. Right now its only 10 contained. Youre looking at the whittier fire, it has charred more than 3500 acres in Santa Barbara county. The u. S. Forest Service Tells Us the fire is 0 contained and officials fear powerful winds overnight could help the fire grow. This fire shows a jumbo jet dropping retardant. So far ten homes have been destroyed and 2700 acres charred one man is vowing to stay until the fire reaches his property. Its a trip, man. They cut off the paower to everybody. We have no water. We have a lot to contend with with the water and the fuels out there very dry, so a long road ahead of us. Cal fire says the fire is 20 contained and is blamed for six injuries since yesterday afternoon. And in yolo county, the winters fire is 75 contained. All evacuation there have been lifted. Here in the bay area, no big wildfires be but crews responded to several brush fires. One came dangerously close to a freeway and a nearby refinery. Thankfully, nobody was hurt.
