Were enjoying a bit of a break. But some of the rain is going to be moving in. Its offshore right now. Its going to start sliding south. I want to show you the forecast animation model. So heres what you can expect for easter sunday. 5 00 tomorrow it hits the north bay coast. And if you have sunday Service Plans or brunch, have an umbrella handy. We have moderate to light rainfall expected throughout the bay area tomorrow at 9 00 in the morning. By the afternoon it turns into spotty scattered showers. Katie, this is a preview. A rural east Bay Community is running out of options for water. Wells are drying up and their only other sources now cut off. A few months ago east bay mud revoked water access to about 100 families saying it can only Service Customers within its jurisdiction. Tiffany wilson explains why theyre now concerned the drought could turn their community into a desert. Tucked between black hawk and dublin youll find the valley. A beautiful, beautiful area. Reporter about 100 properties make up this slice of paradise. Each deals with the same water problem. When it comes to any water agency, weve been named nomans land. Reporter up until now, shes sustained her family and horses with this 150foot well. As the drought deepens members of her community are starting to see their wells run dry. We just want to survive. Reporter Sandy Johnson says her well pumps less than a third of a gallon per minute. She used to augment her water supply through east bay mud. Now theyre left with few feasible options. Even the commercial haulers are losing their right to deliver us water. Im losing sleep over it. If were not able to go to our normal sources sites, what do we do now. Reporter even though the residents had tapped into the east bay mud hydrant for years that was always an authorized use. Its a very difficult situation. But legally we cannot allow access to customers outside of our service area. Reporter Tracy Morales said east bay mud must prioritize their customers, and theres nothing the district can do to help the 100 families in the valley. Someone needs to be able to call an emergency and say these folks out here need water just to survive. Reporter as the drought continues, no one knows how long they can last on land without water. Tiffany wilson, abc 7 news. At this point the valley residents are considering trucking in water from pittsburgh. They say it could cost them up to 2000 a month. Evacuation orders have been lifted in Sequoia National park as firefighters continue to battle a 20acre wildfire that broke out around 1 30 this afternoon in the foothills southeast of fresno. Crews do now have the fire fully contained. New at 11 00, a charred camper cover a backyard in hayward. The firefighters say propane exploded when a man tried to light a stove. That man burned his hands and arms. Crews put out the fire within ten minutes. The flames did not reach any other building. The yemeniamerican community is in mourning tonight as the first reported u. S. Citizen was killed in the current rebel fighting. He died tuesday after visiting a mosque in his home country. The case started when North Las Vegas police checked in on the couples 17yearold daughter and her baby. The 4monthold was found to be malnourished and in critical condition. In another home they found a 3yearold girl dead. But they could not find her parents. They believe Kelly Phillips and john may be on the run with five other children. We have a 4monthold who is fighting for its life at the hospital still. Again, it is imperative for us to locate these children so we can verify their condition. Investigators arrested the 17yearold on child abuse charges. They say shes the older sister of the 3yearold who died. Their parents have contacts in oakland and los angeles. Police are investigating the beating death of a man found unconscious on a west oakland street early this morning. Officers found the man suffering from multiple injuries on Martin Luther king jr. Way. Police say the victim was arguing with a man before he was beaten. Homicide detectives have joined the investigation. Novato residents awoke to found dozens of tires slashed. Tonight were hearing from the ones who survived this weeks attacks. Alex marquardt has details. Reporter it was a horror that lasted 13 hours and left at least 148 people dead. Gunshots shattering the quiet on thursday morning, jolting students at the University College out of their beds. As four gunmen from al shabaab stormed campus. This young man emerging from one building saying he covered himself in his classmates blood, and played dead. I only managed to survive from all the blood. The abc 7 news iteam confronted a towing Company Owner under criminal investigation for allegedly bribing a cop. Abc 7 news iteam reporter has the story. Reporter nelson lopez has a handle on the towing business in the bayview Hunters Point area of San Francisco. Especially any tows ordered by one particular Police Officer. Records obtained under the sunshine ordinance show Nelson Towing Service performed a third of 2,000 tows in the bayview last year. But when Ricky Rodriguez handled the call somehow he got the business 84 of the time. I caught up to nelson lopezs office. I need to talk to you about this. How is it that you got so many tows from ricky. Reporter the Police Department confirms theyve launched a criminal investigation into whether nelson lopez gave kickbacks to Ricky Rodriguez. Have you paid him any money . Out. Youre on private property. Im going. Reporter i just want to make sure im giving you a fair chance. Have you ever paid him bribes . No answer from lopez. Sources familiar with the case also tell me rodriguez and nelson were often spotted dining together at this bar and grill popular with officers and that the tow Company Owner always picked up the tab. The one that happens to be closest, normally gets the job. But sources inside auto return tell me when rodriguez called for a tow he usually said, nelson towing was already on the scene. I need to talk to you. I cant. Reporter no . Rodriguez wouldnt talk to me when i saw him three weeks ago at his house on the peninsula and he did not return my phone calls on this new information. Former federal prosecutor and abc 7 legal analyst gil told me rodriguez could face prison time if convicted. If the allegations are true this is a Police Officer taking a form of bribe a kickback in exchange for performing an action under color of being a Police Officer. Thats bribery, thats a state offense, a federal offense.
