Officials are not sharing much but say it is one of the largest ever in San Francisco. The fbi has been on the scene for hours and tonight they are still at an apartment near jackson and polk. Tiffany wilson is live tonight with the latest. Reporter we have very latebreaking details to share with you. The fbi is looking for Ryan Chamberlain. He is the man who was in the apartment that has been the source of this all day long investigation and they believe him to be armed and dangerous. They are alerting all local Law Enforcement to look for this man and if they see him they say to stay away. They say his car could be rigged with explosives. They did not have a chance to search that car when they delivered the search want to his apartment earlier this morning. Several hours ago that there was a loud bang and they were able to safely disrupt a device and hazmat crews recovered a very large amount of ricin. They have to get the substance they found tested to confirm it is indeed ricin. But at this point they are working on confinement and collection. Dressed in full hazmat suits and masks, investigators walked in and out of the jackson street ground level apartment all day. Only abc 7 was there as agents rigged a system to remove a tool box from the unit and examined it at n the courtyard. The bomb did pos disposal rob was used. There is no risk to public safety. Reporter residents of the building described the action of the searched apartment as a quiet man in his 30s. He is a quiet guy. Nice enough. Hes not been seen all day. Where is he right now . Does he know this is going on . Did he know it was going to happen . It is just so random and weird. Investigators were sprayed off once they emerged from the building. Many folks didnt know what to make of the scene. I thought it looked like another crazy day in the city. I thought they were filming a movie. Around dusk the fire and Police Department switched out their crews as the fbi set up a mobile command truck for the evening ahead. The fbi has not said what they were looking for or what they found. And again, the latebreaking details that they believe that they found ricin at a scale larger than they have ever seen in San Francisco. They do once again have to confirm it through testing but they do suspect it was ricin. If you look behind me, you can see crews as they are taking things out of the apartment and at this point shutting down the operation for this evening because there is only a certain number of times that hazmat crews can go into a location before they basically have to stop going back in. So they still have hours of work ahead of them i am told but they plan on resuming all of the testing and the confinement and the collection tomorrow.
