calling this is a tragic accident. >> we found this child deceased in the water, as apparent victim of a drowning. >> it's a sad end ago a two and a half hour intensive search of the wild horse canal in antioch. you can see as dives, police, and search and rescuers work frantically to find a 13-year-old boy who fell into the canal while playing with two friends. his son was there when it happened. >> i believe he reached in and stepped on a rock and fell in the water, and i don't think he can swim. >> he says the boys were working for lizards when they crawled through a hole in the chain link fence. no trespassing signs warn people to stay away. when the boy fell in the water, his cousin jumped in after him but couldn't save him. that boy got owl and called for help. >> those who live nearby know to steer clear of the canal and call the fence weak and riddled with holes. >> we ask if anybody has a report of any crews, we have crews that come out instantly to repair those. >> we reported them at least opposite. >> the motion are investigating this drowning as well as the one on monday involving a man who was under the influence. in antioch. cloons cloons -- abc7 news. >> ama: beau ross muse send was in the bay to breakers but no one has seen him since. >> talked to him last thursday. we made plans for me to pick him up at the airport. he was at the top of his game. he ordered a new car from a dealership and was going to pick it up and drive it back to california. >> ama: told friends after the race he was going to the beachle his passport and clothes were found in ocean beach. >> 19-year-old sean sidi has not been seen since tuesday when he told his dad he was going to a park. >> he had a bad injury. he fell on his head, and he ended up with a traumatic brain injury. he had a good recovery, and he is a pretty sharp kid. no problems. but he is extremely fragile, and any knock on the head could be devastating. >> his last phone call was a two-mile radius of baker beach and they want to know on which bus he last used his card. >> a search for suspects and answers in four brutal cases of animal abuse. all four dogs are now recovering at the city salmonella shelter. that's where sergio queen tan na is tonight with details. reporter: animal care and control officers say they are shocked at the level of violence these dogs have suffered. they believe one dog was thrown from the second floor of -- from a second floor window. another was beaten so badly the dog is now blind. another was found with broken legs, tied to a tree, in golden gate park. this gentle mapperred pit mix is called tiny dancer. she is not doing very well. the shelter vet says this dog survived serious injuries. >> from the x-rays looks like she has sustained a couple of bouts of blunt force trauma. >> she will need major surgery. she was found staiving and tied to a tree. a notice was posted where she was found in case anyone wants to claim her, but officers say she is one of four dogs that are recent victims of abuse. >> she is blind. >> yes. she had blunt force trauma to the head, and she had a lot of neurological damage. >> what is worse, the vet says tori has bruising that suggests sexual assault. she was left at this pets unlimited store and the staff called the shelter. this terrier was badly beaten and officers believe this mitt bull was injured after being hurled out a second store window. all four of the cases have officers shocked and concerned. >> this is a huge public safety issue. people who would commit a violent act against helpless animals are very likely to commit the same acts against a human being. >> an animal cruelty arrest has been made in scrap wherespy's c. and there is a reward in the other cases. >> ama: new at 11:00, police in san francisco and around the bay area are conducting dui checkpoints tonight. there's one on the southbound embarcadero at broadway. authorities are stepping up their presence because of the memorial day weekend. >> developing news out of texas where at least two people are dead and a teenage boy is missing. there have been hundreds of dramatic rescues near san antonio. more than 200 people have been pulled from the rising water. two women were killed in separate incidents after becoming trapped in their cars. ten inches of rain fell in hours. crews checked submerged vehicle to make sure no one was in them. a bus was overwhelmed and drivers were forced to abandon their vehicles. president obama will travel to oklahoma tomorrow for a firsthand look at the weather disaster there. he wall review the devastating damage from the deadly tornado and visit families impacted by the event. the community is trying to move forward. high school graduations were held today for the land burned on both sides of the freeway. the fire jumped the road and sparked on the other side. it burned about 50 acres. >> long-time kgo radio host gene burns has died. he joined kgo-am in been hired to remove the fallen bridge from the river. four local bridges have their issues. by federal standards the golden gate andduarton bridges are considered functionally obsolete and the carquinez and san rafael bridges are considered structurally deficient. >> sever people were injured in another road collapse in southern missouri. it happened when two freight trains collided. one >> control the head, control the arms, don't let go. >> the camera keeps rolling while they take the prisoner to wash away the pepper spray, get him cleared by a nurse. >> turn around. >> and into administrative segregation. >> i took the videos to one of the foremost prison rights advocates in the nation, the prison law office based in berkeley. the director says he understands the need for sell extraction teams. >> we want to make sure that it's done appropriately and only when necessary. >> he questions the large amount of pepper spray in these extracts and tactics used on a prisoner who did not want to take a tb test. >> when he goes over and tries to use the water in the sink or the toilet, he is actually pepper spraying himself. >> that seems to me to be incredibly excessive as well. you're supposed to give them the minimum amount of pepper spray necessary to gain compliance. >> i reached the prisoner by phone. he is now out of prison, getting his life together. >> tell me how that felt, that pepper spray. >> it didn't really burn the eyes too bad. >> and he surrendered after being pepper sprayed and now he says he should have followed orders and has no problem with how
