Residents in the Santa Cruz Mountains are seeing stormrelated problems today but citizens are taking steps to prevent flooding in the area. Matt keller is live at the reservoir in los gatos. Reporter water, water everywhere. This is the reservoir here in los gatos and it is almost full. That is why water officials are doing this, they are releasing water to make room for more rain. That includes flooded roadways and collisions. So weve got so many going right now. Reporter one of them was here on highway 9 in saratoga east of sanborn road. A tree fell across highway 9 around 6 00 a. M. Blocking traffic in both directions for several hours. This came after a huge tree branch went down across the street in the Santa Cruz Mountains yesterday afternoon. Water was rushing, including in saratoga creek. It is a beautiful site but safe as well. Wter officials dont expect any rivers or creeks to reach flood stages with the storm. I brought my oldest umbrella. Like you could see right here. But it is very light. This shouldnt cause any more damage in the Santa Cruz Mountains. If you are heading out in the afternoon, redwood city and broadway across the dumbarton bridge from east to west, running into a light shower. And same thing with Pleasant Hill and concord and out toward martinez and pittsburg and around alhambra and scattered light showers across the north bay also. So here is what i think will happen moving forward. A pretty shot from emeryville because the air is so clean behind the cold front. Still have a chance of showers. Still be aware, if you see a darker clouds, just get the umbrella ready. Sunshine also. So well flip between umbrella and needing sunglasses.
