Now to developing news, the santa clara sheriff just wrapped up a News Conference explaining what led to the dramatic capture of the escapee from the county jail. Matt keller is live in san jose with new information. We learned they received a tip monday that campbell was in antioch. They called the u. S. Marshals service. They surveilled the house and last night they went in and captured him. Like many people in trouble, campbell turned to family for help. The escaped inmate was captured by u. S. Marshals at his sisters apartment in and ok late last night. Neighbors witnessed the raid. Kind of scary because you dont really expect that kind of stuff to happen and when youre just zuting outside and see a whole bunch of cop cars and officers in full gear. Its a little never wracking. Reporter campbell literally fell from the sky into the lands of law enforcement. Upon entering the residents they determined that campbell was hiding in the attic. And campbell then crashed through the ceiling on to the floor where the Marshalls Service and Antioch Police took him into custody spout further incident. Reporter he was taken back and booked into the santa clara jail. His sister, 24yearold alexander, was arrested for harboring a fugitive. Campbell was not injured. He was taken back and booked into the Santa Clara County jail. This is his new booking photo. Another woman was also arrested earlier this week for accessory to a crime for helping the other escaped inmate chavez who is still on the loose. The Sheriffs Office will seek prosecution of anyone who harbors, aide, or assists in these escapees to the full extent of the law. Theyve been visiting banks all over the downtown area this morning asking people to pull their money out as a protest against the Dakota Access pipeline.
