On pacific between two alleys. I believe theyre wayne and keys alleys. Now police are keeping everyone out of the immediate area. Out of the line of fire so to speak. S. W. A. T. Team members have converged on the building, i did see them arrive a little while ago. They went into the building. In fact, all of them, a group of six or eight, are inside the building. More are standing by. Police negotiators have been talking back and forth with a person in that building. A while ago i heard yelling out of a window. The suspect was yelling profanities. Police moved further back out of the sight of the building. Lets go to pictures that i tweeted before police before as police arrived, excuse me. This is the picture you tweeted when they were entering the aqua building. Heres another you showed of s. W. A. T. Teams converging at o an alleyway. You see the store front there. A very populated area. Are people evacuated given that its a densely populated area . Yes. Police have evacuated the buildings around the small alleys and the building units theyre now in. A while ago they held a briefing. By the way, its the 900 block of pacific. Police held a briefing. They said it started at 9 20 this morning. First there was a hangup call. And then there was like seconds later a 911 call, a breakin that a suspect had broken to the apartment. Thats apparently how it started. Police responded. Police say they took the resident from the unit. Apparently, that suspect is alone in the building. We heard one version that they broke off, another that they going back and forth, back and forth, apparently in no hurry. Heres the thing. It is a very tense situation because police tell us that the suspect actually fired a shot inside the building. Apparently since theres nobody there now, apparently nobody was hurt. That is reassuring. Yeah. Instead of just a burglary, this is called a hotprowl burglary which is very dangerous. Also we can tell that there are areas, rows, intersections that are closed because of the police activity, s. W. A. T. Team activity. In fact, we saw a sweet from San Francisco police saying avoid that entire area. Is it your sense that its one intersection only, or really a broader region or a lot of chinatown . Reporter no, from my vantage poi point, pacific and powell, they have cordoned off broadway, broadway and powell, i believe theyve cordoned off jackson and powell. I cant see the other sides of the street. I dont know what else is blockaded, but i presume most of the streets around the area are off limits. You told us how it started. Are you hearing anything else with relation to the particular suspect . Reporter no, i heard from one of the Police Officers here, the burglar apparently crawled up i guess through the roof to the apartment and gained access to the unit. I get that you may have been when the resident tried to call police, but it was a hangup call. Seconds later, there was a 911 call saying, i presume by the resident, saying someone had broken into the apartment. What a scary situation. Well check back in about ten minutes.
