Highway 85 was shut down in both directions in sunnyvale after power lines fell across the entire freeway between fremont avenue and homestead road. Security guards at whole foods in San Francisco was stabbed by a shoplifter at 8 30 this morning in whole foods on height. The man filled a were showing basket with groceries and walked out without paying. The guard tried to stop the man and theshipper slashed the guard with a knife. The guard was taken to the hospital. The man was arrested. There was a power will fire forced evacuation at a propane yard. Firefighters were called before 11 oclock to the plant on east virginia near south 7th. A vegetation fire was burning into the abandoned yard in contained dozens of propane tanks. Neighbors and businesses were evacuated and 280 was closed while crews got the situation under control. The emails were obtained after the city settled their lawsuits with cpuc on friday and they sued to get this correspondence. The mayor says they have filed legal motions with the cpuc to have the president recused from voting during the upcoming cpuc hearings on penalties and fines against pg e. The fire happened in september of 2010 killing eight people and destroying 38 homes. The cpuc is still graph peopling with what kind of penalty should be imposed against the utility were the mayor is demanding that he be removed from position as president and asking the same thing of pegs Top Executive and they all resign. In addition the mayor is asking the state to appoint an independent monitor to oversee the agency in the future dealings and they want to ensure that pg e will have transparency. Documents the city obtain show that over 36 months pg e has made illegal efforts to influence the cpuc Decision Makers to protect the utilitys financial interests. Sadly and shockingly they have participated in the illegal conduct. Pg e responded by saying they have high ethical standards to physical. The statement says, in part i want to assure you that we will review the mails involved in this matter to ensure that this High Standard was up uphold and if it was not we will take proposes action. Developing news this morning from the sierra, firefighters continue to budget el two wildfires, one burning in Yosemite National park and the sand fire has destroyed 3,600 acres of brush in the sierra foothills eat of sacramento. In yosemite, thick smoke, blazing hot temperatures and rugged terrain are hampering firefighters. 2,600 acres have burned and only 5 percent containment. Over evacuations are in effect for several small towns. The park remains open. The sand fire is 50 percent contained this morning.
