Amy . Good morning, cheryl, we just talked to one of the fire victims who says he is very happy about this news and very relieved. Here is the mug shot we have for you of 48yearold patrick brennan, they said he set between 12 fires between last wednesday, the 8th, and sunday, the 12th, including the fivealarm warehouse fire that ended up shutting down streets and schools. Police say that brennan has committed arson in other states and served time for it. They arrested had him last night, he went willingly, and did not put up a fight. At this point we are extremely certain that we have the individual responsible for all the arsons that have occurred in the city. We conducted as Sergeant Randall mentioned, a search warrant on his residence where we retrieved additional items showing him to have been the person who committed these crimes. Reporter police had Surveillance Video of him outside a home that was set on fire. They say that was extremely helpful. Their other big break came when a sergeant with the Police Department went through a data base, one they say is frequently used by police. He found brennan registered there as an arsonist and noticed he lived there where the fires had been set. Police watched him, once they made their case, they arrested him. They did not give us specifics of what they found in his home. But they say he is responsible for setting fires in a home, a church and warehouse in san francisco. What they dont know is why. They dont have the motive. He is being held on a Million Dollars bail. Reporting live in san jose, amy holyfield. And a huge fire is burning in Los Angeles County in the foothills above glendora and zuzu, it broke out this morning and burned at least five structures, mandatory evacuations are in place. And youre looking at again, the live picture, Officials Say three people are in custody. They were seen running from the scene, claimed to have been camping in the mountains. More than 550 firefighters were on scene, and additional strike teams were on their way. And in the past hour we saw the giant flames minimized. Now, we have a map here showing you perspective. The fire is burning on the edge of the angeles forest. And right now, firefighters working on a fire that broke out along highway 84, it was contained to four acres, fortunately no damage occurred to homes. And the fire danger is getting higher, the area has been getting drier. Reporter normally, a 30 Miles Per Hour santa ana winds in the area surrounding socal, but because it is so dry we have red flag warnings all the way down to the border with mexico, and telling us this tomorrow afternoon, same thing, even the sierra is not immune, a red flag warning, fire danger in the sierra . That should not be happening, friday at 9 00, if you head through tahoe you will head up through a red flag warning. Here is the reason why, we know it is dry. But it is accelerating. Look at the drought last week, 28 of california was covered by extreme drought. This week, 63 . The only thing that could be worse would be an exceptional drought.
