More changes to the office of san joses independent Police Auditor. The assistant Police Auditor, eva roa, has stepped down. This comes just months after the top watchdog retired and the independent Police Auditor office is tasked with making sure city internal investigations into officer misconduct are fair and thorough. In her resignation letter, roa detailed concerns. She said, quote, in its current existence , this office is without real power or respect from either anyone at cedar city leadership or nor sj pd. After joining the ipa in 2020, roa said san jose leaders forgot about the office until the annual year end report, or when a National Event or a moment of crisis occurred. The acting ipa believes the accusations are without merit. If you read the letter, theyre very general complaints. Theres no there there.
