>> reporter: jayden is one of at least 64 children in new york affected by what's being called pediatric multi-system inflammatory syndrome. and tonight, doctors reporting three cases in los angeles, at least two cases in boston, as well as cases popping up in several other states, louisiana and michigan. doctors say symptoms include fever, rash, eye irritation, swollen lymph nodes and stomach illness, similar to a rare condition called kawasaki disease, which causes the inflammation of blood vessels and can lead to heart problems. >> what's important for these children when they're coming in, because their cardiovascular system is so compromised, they're in shock. >> jay, can you say one thing more? can you say, "good night, mommy?" >> good night, mommy. >> reporter: it's been one week since jayden was admitted to the hospital. he's now off a ventilator and his family is seeing him for the first time tonight since he was taken to the e.r. >> off the ventilator, that is good news. the parents going to the hospital. stephanie with us from cohen
