Its just about 12 noon, here in quincy, massachusetts, and that means its high tide, and just look at the incredible force of the storm system, even at it leaves the area. Widespread flooding and Power Outages prompting a state of emergency in massachusetts. The National Guard using rafts and front loaders to carry residents to safety. These rescuers needing scuba gear to pull this motorist from his car and back to dry land. More than 100 rescued in quincy alone. This family has lived here for more than a decade. Theyve never seen anything quite like this. You dont wish this on anyone. Definitely not the greatest situation to be a part of. Reporter our team witnessing just how fast this storm moved in. This is the seawall here, look how close that water is getting now. Rain pouring down sideways, winds reaching up to 93 mph. We tried to go the back way since 380 was closed, and the roads were really bad. I kind of peeled off to the side, got stuck for about an hour. Reporter wind gusts up to 60 Miles Per Hour knocked over trucks in rhode island. On a bridge in new york, and this highway just outside of baltimore. Trains connecting every major city between washington, d. C. ,
and boston shut down. Stations flooded and without power. Debris littered the tracks. Amtrak back up and running but Service Limited right now. Its been terrible. I know its because of the weather. I know when we were on the train, i could see the winds. It was really bad. Reporter since the start of the storm, more than 4,000 flights cancelled and nearly 7,000 delayed. Pretty rough coming out of it on the runway there. I was concerned, i saw that the wind was going to be picking up until 6 00 a. M. This morning. Reporter the winds that tore up this roof at new Yorks Laguardia airport and forced this 737 to abort a landing in d. C. , are finally calming down, but the travel nightmare not over yet.
