Reporter the kidnapped teen has been reunited with her family in Southern California, following a weeklong manhunt that stretched all the way to idaho. I am very proud of her and i love her very much. Reporter four civilians on horseback spotted hannah and her 40yearold accused kidnapper, James Dimaggio last week in the rugged back woods of idaho. I seen a lot of fears in her eyes. And i didnt like what i seen in his eyes. Reporter they say hannah wearing pajamas carrying a cat appeared scared and kept looking away. They didnt fit out there in the idaho mountains. Reporter they called police after seeing the amber alert on tv. Over the weekend the Fbi Hostage Rescue Team found dimaggios campsite where he was shot and killed after investigators say he refused to surrender. During the interview with hannah, after her recovery, up in idaho that she was first told about the deaths of her mother and her little brother. Reporter a close family friend of the andersens, detectives believed dimaggio was infatuated with hannah. Murdering her mother and younger brother before setting fire to his home in san diego county. A federal judge threw out a race Discrimination Suit filed against paula deen by a former employee. Those are twot key questions being asked in the wake of major developments on americas crime beat. Reporter attorney general eric holder unveiled sweeping new criminal justice reforms saying long prison terms for drug offenses are not making the u. S. Safer. We need to ensure that incarceration is used to punish, to deter, and rehabilitate, but not really to warehouse and to forget. Reporter meantime, the federal judge delivered a significant ruling. Saying a hard line approach in new york city, a policy, stop and frisk has violated the Constitutional Rights of minorities. It was a blow for mayor Michael Bloomberg with far reaching implications. If this decision were to stand it would turn those precedents on their head and make our city and in fact the whole country a more dangerous place. Well begin this halfhour with what is called a total loss in Central Florida. A vacation villa near disney world has been partially swallowed by a sinkhole. The question is any other nearby buildings also in danger. Abcs Steve Osunsami went to the scene and had a look. Reporter dozens of families here on their sunny florida vacations were just dozing off sunday night when a 100foot sinkhole started to swallow their villa with them and their belongings in it. I kept hearing the building cracking as i was going back and forth. I would see things fall from the ceiling. I actually watched the floor split open at the time. Reporter authorities and eyewitnesses outside orlando raced to the collapsing buildings capturing this incredible video and screaming for residents to get out now. I know this may happen in florida, i am from atlanta, the ground has never been sucked from under our feet. Reporter it looked like the ground opened up and ate the building. A stairwell there leading to nowhere, lake a tornado came through and punched a hole in the ground. Rusty glover and her family saw the floors buckling then tried to escape. But the doors were stuck and wouldnt open. The couple with a baby had to break a window to get out. We started running out throwing our stuff over the balconies. It was crazy. Reporter florida is sinkhole central. Heres why. Much of the state sits on porous limestone in a thick layer of clay. Over time, water eats away at the stone and heavy rains help push the clay into the rock. Authorities say there arent more sinkholes just more people around to notice them. Reporter Hannah Anderson is back home in Southern California after a harrowing week that ended with fbi agents shooting her accused kidnapper in the idaho back woods. The sheriff says the teen had no idea the man accused of kidnapping her a week ago, 40yearold James Dimaggio, allegedly killed her mother and 8yearold brother. Reporter authorities revealed dimaggio shot at them before an fbi agent killed him and rescued hannah. They say he had gone to Great Lengths to cover his tracks. Thats his blue car camouflaged under all that debris. Police say hannah may owe her life to these four horseback riders. They said they were back country people in california. I am very proud of her and i love her very much. Reporter four civilians on horseback spotted hannah and her 40yearold accused kidnapper, James Dimaggio last week in the rugged back woods of idaho. I seen a lot of fears in her eyes. And i didnt like what i seen in his eyes. Reporter they say hannah wearing pajamas carrying a cat appeared scared and kept looking away.
