is a second person involved in the murder of -- of a police officer. amy hollyfield is live in vallejo. the veteran officer was killed yesterday during a foot chase? >> reporter: yes. >> this community is reaching out to support its police department during this sad time. look at their entryway, the community is filling it up with flowers, candle, a balloon and very, very nice notes about the officer and how sad everyone is this happen. officer james capoot was kill while chasing a suspected bank robber. he was driving his car and forced the suspect to wreck his suv. the suspect shot the officer as he was running away. police did arrest one man. then officers searched backyards and sheds, all afternoon and evening for a possible second peck. while looking the community started dealing -- with and reacting to what happened. >> he was fair, you know. i believe god is going to give him a pass cause you shouldn't go out that way after serving the community this long. >> reporter: police searched all the way into the night last night for a possible suspect. they've not made any more arrests. they did give up for the night. investigators did go home and gave it up for the night and haven't said if they still believe someone is on the loose or if they feel confident the man they arrested is the only one involved. they haven't released any information about him this was all because of a bank robbery, robbery of the bank of america in vallejo yesterday afternoon. amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >> officer james capoot was much loved by his fellow officers and the community. his death is devastating to those who knew him. >> reporter: when word spread that vallejo police officer capoot had been killed fellow officers and friends came to kaiser vallejo to be by his side comforted one another and watched silently as his body draped in an american flag was taken away, a full procession to honor the former marine who also worked for the chp. over 19 years officer capoot earned two medals of courage two lifesaving medals and several other commendations recognition those who knew him say he deserved. >> i'm going to miss him. always being there for me. >> reporter: britney fitz is a junior at the high school where the officer coached girls basketball she is a cheerleader who new him personally. >> he was there when i was . i grew up with him. when i was little i remember going to races in antioch, i remember going in my stroller. >> reporter: brity -- britney's mom called her and told her what happened. >> i didn't believe it at first. >> reporter: nicholas found out at the barbershop. >> i was getting my haircut and my barber was said did you hear about the officer who died officer capoot was my staging patrol teacher in fifth grey. he was a really good teacher. >> reporter: teacher, coach, officer and a husband and father with three kids and apparently room for more. >> he had daughters. then recently, two of his friends had say they won't leave now. hundreds gathered for a general assembly the group voted down a proposal to reestablish the encampment but say it could happen next week. big news for bart righters. official, new seats are coming to trains next spring. katie marzullo is live in the newsroom. >> reporter: there are two items of interest for commuters. first, a nearly two million dollar gift to bart train riders, clean seats. the board of directors has voted to swap out some of the old cloth seats for vie anyone ones, they are starting with -- vinyl ones. they are starting with 100 cars. they are easier to clean and they cost less. look for those new seats this spring. second, the bart board is moving forward to add late night weekend service via bus. the idea of running trains past midnight has been scrapped. weekend morning commuters had a big problem with the idea because it would have meant delaying their weekend morning trains because crews need a certain amount of time for maintenance in between shifts. running buses after midnight is on the table. the board has asked staff to come up with a prepostal. the president of the bart board suggesting late night bart service a moments that military jets were ready to scramble. it happened on a delta regional flight from north carolina to new york wednesday the pilot badged on the bathroom door after the latch broke and he couldn't get out. a passenger tried to let the co-pilot know what was going on using the secret code used to get into the cockpit that's when the co-pilot radioed for help. the pilot got out of the
