And I think I have mold I got the last stuff in the cabinets and I've got white powder on the outside of the cabinets Yes but do you have by any chance have block walls concrete block walls for form a stone wall though it's just it's a slab house with this traditional sheet rock are all and where is the home located in in the Bay Area Robert that someone else Ok there are a couple of things that you can do to determine if there is mold and if the mold that you have is of a potentially toxic nature and that would be 1st a mold test kit that you purchase either online or at your local hardware store or home center it consists typically of a Petri dish you open it you do an air sampling You can also collect using a swab you can collect a little bit of the suspect material I've had the occasion to take dry wall and cut it out and package that since done the swab but any way you can do more than one sample seal it up in accordance with the directions email it off to the lab they'll do the tests they'll give you a report and tell you you will have mold present there is no doubt about it their dorm and mildew spores in the air everywhere they'll measure the exterior that is the typically what one would find at the exterior of the home with what you find at the interior and make some decisions about the level. And also if any of the mold is potentially toxic if you want something that is a little bit more sophisticated you can have a testing lab come out and there are many of them that will come out and do a test of the mold they'll do an indoor air quality check to determine what the indoor air quality is like if there are any levels of anything that you should be concerned about if you find that you don't have any potentially toxic mold then you can clean up what exists by using a simple formula that consists of 3 things that you probably have laying around the house and that's a a 3rd of a cup of powdered one of those and playing around the house is me yeah right well this is in addition to you and this this by the way Robert this solution was developed by the Department of Agriculture's Forest Products laboratory for cleaning up this mold and mildew indoor outdoor one painted or other washable finishes and it consists of one 3rd of a cop of powdered laundry detergent he was a lot about it doesn't make any difference a just a 3rd of a cup of powdered laundry detergent one quart of liquid chlorine bleach. A hazmat group and then finally put it in one of those little spray bottles you can funnel it into a spray bottle and then spray it on the affected areas Robert the cabinets whatever it is wherever you have this just spray it on and it's a vast area you can put it in a pump garden sprayer and put it on to the areas let it sit don't let it dry consider for about 10 minutes and you'll see the dark stains lighten and then which you do is wipe it up with fresh water rinse the area and then dry it if it's in cabinets use a blow dryer or a fan Yeah you don't want the area to remain wet once you've done this process because if it remains wet the mildew were come right back top that helps you Robert yes it does by the way we have an extra of the leftover stuff that we have when we mix this stays in a spray bottle under our kitchen sink and you know how you get a stain on a coffee cup you know the coffee cup sits around for a while what you do if you put the coffee cup into the sink and you spray the inside of the coffee cup with the stuff Ok let it sit for about 10 or 15 seconds put a little warm water. In it and you won't have to scrub the coffee cup.
