A developing story this morning a former substitute teacher at Cedar Rapids Washington High School now says shes not guilty of having an inappropriate relationship with a student. Student. Mary beth haglin entered the written not guilty interviews with cbs 2 news haglin admitted to sexual contact with the student. Shes charged with Sexual Exploitation by a school employee. Haglin says the school tried to cover up the co. Controversy. Longtime washington principal doctor Ralph Plagman and activities director Michael Johnson resigned from their positions along with district Human Resources officer jill cirivello. This week . District leaders completed their investigation into the district procedures were not followed. Haglin will face a judge in november. A popular restaraunt is now moving forward after it was damaged by a fire. A cedar rapids man is now accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside of the jimmy johns in downtown iowa city. 20yearold grant ajango walked into the womens restroom and locked the door behind him. Police documents say he then slammed a girl against the wall and assaulted her. The victim was able to text for help and employees broke into the bathroom,the suspect tried to run but was caught and held by the employees until police arrived. Linn county is now just one step away from increasing the minimum wage. The board of supervisors passed the . Second reading of the ordinance wednesday morning. If it passes the minimum wage will increase onedollar each year over the next three years to 1025 an hour. The first bump in pay would take effect in january. The final vote to for monday morning. In december humbles pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. He is now being held in juvenile detention. Richardsons death was one of many shootings last year in cedar rapids. Rapids. The man suspected of killing wetterling Danny Heinrich agreed to plead guilty to one count of child pornography in exchange for a maximum sentence of 20years in prison. Didnt have enough evidence to go for murder charges. The bind we were in. We believed he was the one who did it. But we didnt have the proof. If henrich would have been convicted of murder he would have been sentenced by laws on the books in 1989 and would have only served 17 years behind bars. Attorneys say the wetterlings agreed to the deal last week. The family says they were hoping the deal would lead to a confession because they simply wanted closure.
