A Fayette County man convicted of threatening to kill an eastern iowa a Waterloo Police officer will not face formal charges. Charges. Body cam video shows officer Adam Wittmayer yanking on the dreadlocks of a handcuffed suspect. It also shows the officer yelling at the suspect hitting him in the head and pushing him into a squad car. The suspects attorney sent this video to the fbi and cbs 2 news. News. Officials say the suspect is 24yearold Montavis Keller and that he nearly ran over officer wittmayer at the end of a highspeed chase. Keller wants the offi office reviewed the footage and decided not to charge officer wittmayer. The Waterloo Police chief says the officer was punished internally. Keller will stand trial later this month. A Fayette County man convicted of threatening to kill an Eastern Iowa Police chief will now be sent to a halfway house. 33yearold Joshua Sargent was sentenced to two suspended fiveyear prison terms. And also sentenced to two to five years probation that will begin in a for burglary and when he left the jail he called the police chief and threatened to kill him. A former Corridor School bus attendant is pleading guilty to child enticement. Enticement. Court filings show 20yearold tyler konigsmark entered the plea thursday in a federal court. Konigsmark worked for the Cedar Rapids Community school district. He was accused of sexually abusing children and soliciting sexually explicit photos of children. He faces a minimum of ten years in federal prison. Accusedof trying to kill her newborn while at the university of iowa hospitals and clinics. Clinics. Officials say Ashley Hautzenrader tried to flush her baby down a toilet and then left the child in a trash can. The newborn was later found alive by hospital staff. Staff. Hautzenrader is pleading . Not guilty to attempted murder and child endangerment. Her trial is now scheduled for february. City leaders in cedar rapids are considering ideas about abouthow to handle any future those ideas have come from dozens of corridor experts and Community Members who met thursday to talk strategy. In a twist the Us Army Corps of engineers created a multihazard tournament. People were put into groups and each group handled an emergency scenario. The best ideas will be looked at by the city. It helps them befrain if the future moves in this direction here are th epossible outcomes and here are possibile strategies to adapt to that consequence. So signing up to care for a veteran was something she was more than happy to do. In my mind, thats just kind of how were built to be as people to be in community and to bring another person and get to know another person. Person. Right now the va is still looking for more people to be caregivers. Caregivers. If youre interested in signing up, you have to meet. You have to be at least 21. And have some previous caregiver experience. Theres also a formal interview process. And since veterans pay caregivers directly, they ask that you are financially stable before entering the program.
