The board of supervisors voted 4to1 to pass the First Reading of a proposal that would raise the minimum wage from 725 to 1025 an hour over the next three years. They also removed part of the proposal that would create a cost of living wage increase starting in 2020. Supervisor ben rogers the move wont be as hard on Small Business as some opponents think im very sympathetic to the fact that a wage increase you know does impact their profitability but then i ask them do they already pay above 7. 25 . A second reading is set for next tuesday with the final vote set for the 12th. Johnson county is in the middle of raising their minimum wage.
