The cedar rapids officers are doing what theyre being paid to do,cedar Rapids Police chief wayne jerman says,thats exactly what his officers were doing tuesday night, when they stopped a car with three people inside. He says investigators suspected drug activity, and when they pulled over the car on ravenwood, they say gossman took off through the neighborhood. Chief jerman says two officers followed him. The day is part of a nation wide effort to stop gun violence in our communities. Iowa City Community schools now have new rules for how to handle a threat. Threat. It comes after an alleged threat made at West High School earlier this month resulted in hundreds of students staying home for a day. Staff will now determine the level of the threat and if necessary report it directly to law enforcement, parents, and the community. Between october 14th and the 20th the district says staff reported 28threats made at 18 school buildings. The district says those turned out to be minor.
