Reporter well, there are several areas of important points that we i want to start with mail delivery in the evacuation zone. We have been getting a lot of people asking us about this. I am being told the mail addressed to flood zones can be picked up at the westside post office. That is that 1930 widely boulevard southwest. If you dont go to pick it up, that mail will be delivered once it is safe for postal workers to be back in a flood zone but you are able to pick up your mail they are now. Another thing we were speaking with police chief Jane Jean Wayman and he said there are vacuum ease and potential victims. The first scam he mentioned his calls are being placed to residents telling them to leave their homes unlocked for Emergency Personnel to get access. He says you should absolutely not listen to these calls. Secure your homes and make sure all your things are locked up because there is no reason that Emergency Personnel will be entering any occupied structures in the evacuation area. Secondly, evacuations scammers are also Offering Free Hotel rooms and asking for credit card information. He says this is also a scam. They want to keep a close eye on the area and then want to make sure people do not come over or try to venture into the water or anything of that sort. If you look down, that river is creeping up on the barrier. That is the main reason they are adding more dirt. Let me tell you how fast this river is rising. Earlier today, i was on bowman street and water was coming through the storm drain and at this very moment, we cannot even get back on that street because water has taken over more dirt to stop the water from coming through. A curfew is in place for the evacuation areas. Curfew begins at 8 00 tonight and goes until 7 am tomorrow morning. There is also a curfew in effect for areas and copay low in pay low for evacuation areas. They will repeat every night until the flooding threat is over. Obviously, the impacts will be felt much longer than that. All that is pushing down to the we are expecting obviously the river to rise another 4 feet by tomorrow afternoon. We will keep our eyes on it of course. Reporter some things we didnt get to talk about a little while ago, we want to make sure you know the National Guard is in town. You have probably seen the moving around. They are going to protect the evacuation zone. They are going to be in along the zone just checking vehicles making sure only people who need to be here are here. Inside the zone, there is going to be protection from the Cedar Rapids Police department but they are also going to be getting assistance from mount vernon police. Iowa state patrol and the department of corrections as well. Another thing we want to talk about is we are looking at this right now, some seepage from the storm sewers. They were saying this is something that is very normal. People are going to be seeing this. It just cant be stopped but what they are trying to do is control it as much as possible so that is something you should be aware of. It is a problem. It is expected and it just cant be stopped. Along here, you can see the one of the things we were just told a little bit ago, if you are inside the evacuation zone and you hear three short lasts from an airhorn or a loud siren, that is a signal that you need to get out immediately.
